    <title>Runners Only - new to running</title>
    <link>http://tracker.dailyburn.com/groups/24/subjects/9231</link>
<description>&lt;p&gt;Hi there! I'm new to running. I started with the couch to 5k program in July and have progressed slowly to running 3.2 miles. My first 5k race is in January and I plan on entering others after that. I have been on a healthy diet&amp;nbsp; life style since last January and lost 70lbs.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; My vice is weight lifting because for so long I had a fear of it. I was always the unathletic, clutzy girl (my mother had a disease similar to MS and I&amp;nbsp;picked up her bad cordination). &amp;nbsp;I'm slowly overcoming the fear of lifting the weights and working on the machines not to mention working on balance.&amp;nbsp; I still run like a duck&amp;nbsp; but I'm working on it. It's hard to train that&amp;nbsp;out of me since I have done it for thirty years.&amp;nbsp; Sometimes I feel like throwing in the towel and&amp;nbsp;quitting but then I look at how far I come and I know I don't want to&amp;nbsp;go back to that lifestyle. I feel free for the first time in my life and that's enough to keep me going when everyone is eating junk food in front of me or&amp;nbsp;the gym is&amp;nbsp;empty and I have self-doubt.&amp;nbsp; Any advice you can give someone who has just started out on this lifestyle?&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;</description>
