Home Fitness - Memberpresentations

Ok. maybe everyone may just tell a few words about himself. I think we all have joined this group because of the same goal -training at home instead of fitness centers- so it'd be nice if everyone tells what he's doing, so we might improve ourselves.

Tired of the gym atmosphere

I made the decision in 1997 to start building pieces for my own home gym. I was getting tired of the gym scene and either having to wait to use certain equipment or finding a "convenient time" to workout.

I ended my last gym membership in 2001 after accumulating the major pieces, including,

dumbells 1-60 in 5 pound increments

incline/decline weight bench

Power Cage with high/low pulley system

Olympic weight set with a squat bar and 300 lbs of plates.

Perfect pushup system

Rogue fitness pullup bar and fitness rings

Recumbent stationary bike

Elliptical machine

Heavy bag, boxing gloves and round timer

Horse stall mats (4' x 6') as the "fitness flooring"

I just looked at what I was using at the commercial gym and duplicated that at home. The only thing I have missed about the commercial gym is the eye candy.

Little bit about me

I left LIVESTRONG for the Daily Burn due to the site being so slow. A friend told me about this site and I love it. I own a Bowflex, Bosu ball, Resistance Bands, Dumb bells, Jump Rope, which all goes along with my Treadmill. I like working out at home but sometimes the motivation isn't there. I joined the group to hold myself accountable. I set up some goals that I can do and hope to push myself to do better. Thanks.

Hi

I joined Daily Burn because I need to be accountable, so my cousin and I are using it to motivate each other from across the country. I'm working out at home because I don't have the willpower to load up the kids and go to the gymn when I can just do some sit-ups at home.

Right now I'm doing a lot of yoga because I was in a car accident, but, when my joints start behaving, I'll be adding some basics like situps and pushups.

One thing that has really helped is the nutrition log. I've never really tracked calories before, just always ate 'till I was full. I discovered that I was only eating 700-800 calories a day, which was why I was gaining all this weight. Since I've started adding calories, my waist has gone down by 2 inches in a week!

Hey

I stopped going to the gym just because its more show than anything I work out in my garage. Bodylastics resistance bands, Powerblock dumbells, Tetrix stair climber, TRX, Jump Rope, Running (just started) YRG and P90X I like a large variety or I lose interest quickly

I joined Daily Burn because even though I had no trouble keeping track of my workouts... I never mastered the nutrition part. I really like the nutrition log. It keeps me honest.

My daily life is active enough, if I watch the diet.

Hi everyone!

Hi,

I'm using this site mostly to track my work-out. It helps me sticking with my schedule.

I'm pretty much following the South Beach diet for now, but since I'm going to India for weeks, I really don't think I'll be able to keep that style of diet! I'll just have to keep on eating healthy.

I've never managed to stick with trainings in gyms. The best for me is doing dvd work-out at home.

New body for 09

I had and injury that left me sedentary for months. I was once in pretty good shape about 2 summers ago, but I have packed on the belly fat and lost alot of strength. I'm hoping Gyminee helps me get to my goals. I think it's good to incorperate stuff like this, it keeps you interested with options and support systems. I'm looking forward to reaching a 5lb. weight loss goal and some upper body definition in the next few weeks.

I like at lot within the site. I like the food tracker right now, it is helping me where I don't have to seach all over for the food.

Right now I am doing mostly walking. After tomorrow I'm off till the new year and that is when I really plan on getting into the grove with some of my equipment I have at home and tapes.

The last 2 weeks I have started a food journal and that is going well, I can feel the differents.

Well, I start by myself. I joined gyminee because of an adverisement on a german newspaper's site. My primary targets are improving my muscle definition and losing fat around my abdomen. I'm living in one of the smallest countries worldwide, but I like it^^. Just excuse my english, sometimes it really sucks. XP
