I just went to the site. I read a couple of blog articles and I like them but the eBook ad page seems too commercial. It seems like the same stuff I get from Prevention magazine.

Looks like he wants $40 for the eBook. Too much for me. I would want a paperback book and lots of independent reviews on how good the book is.

I think I will browse the blog a little more. Some blog articles end up being worth more than a book you pay for. You just need to make sure that what you read is supported via other sources.

Tom Venuto was interviewed and mentions some of the eBook's contents at http://www.burnthefatblog.com/archives/2007/05/fat_burning_secrets_revealed_t.php

This sums it up:

  • a calorie deficit
  • small frequent meals
  • a lean protein with every meal
  • a balance between lean protein and natural carbs
  • plenty of fiber
  • a low fat, but not non-fat diet
  • fats that include plenty of EFA’s
  • a proper ratio of omega 3 to omega 6 fats
  • drinking plenty of water
  • adequate post workout nutrition

5 Important Components of Fat Loss

I finished reading Tom Venuto's interview. I really like what he has to say. He mentioned the following as being important for fat loss:

  1. Calorie deficit - duh!
  2. Weight training
  3. Cardio training - especially HIIT!
  4. Calorie cycling - makes sense, similar to muscle confusion concepts
  5. Right carb level - 0.8 to 1.0 g per lb. I actually set it to 1.0 g per lb same as protein within Gyminee Nutrition

I still think $40 is too expensive for an eBook even though it comes with more stuff. I would buy books on weight training and cardio training. The rest of the concepts are self explantory or can be found on the internet for free.

Buy the eBook

Wow! Four posts in a row by me. I can't help it though. When I get a good material to read, I keep reading. I take back what I said earlier and it looks like Tom's eBook is good. The Cons were that it was too long. Not a bad con if that means it is thorough.

Right now I am readin some of Tom's old articles found at http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Tom_Venuto. I just bought a $30 book (Ross Enamait's Never Gymless) so that blew my book budget for the month.

Thanks Doo. I am having issues with the calorie thing for some reason. I think it is the combination of being busy and the wife nagging me about calories. I am going to create something steady and stick to it for a few weeks like Mehdi does, if there is no consistency, I cannot always be sure I am going to get what I need in a day.

I won't be buying Tom's book - I subscribed to his newsletter a few years ago and still get e-mails. If you get the book I'll decide based on your review. I have more important things to buy at this point.

I doubt I will be buying the eBook. Instead, I am slowly reading all the articles Tom has written. I bet the eBook is a compilation of all his articles in a more organized fashion.
