Hardgainers - Hardgainers Challenge Spring-Summer 2009

Hello all,

I've started this group a long time ago and fell off the radar because, in all honesty, I felt the discouragement that accompanied the frustrations of putting in the work but received no return from my workouts.

This time, I'm taking it slow and so far, I'm feeling great and seeing better results because I'm not overworking my body. But this post isn't about my past experience, its to kick start the hardgainers group.

I recognize that many of us need a bit of coaxing in order to stay keen on our fitness goals.

Gyminee is a great site. It has many great resources that anyone can take advantage of to meet their personal fitness goals.

However, one of the things lacking that would help the hardgainers group and help motivate us like the rest of the community's users is the ability to set challenges that are tailored towards us; not these weight loss goals. I tried as perhaps many of you have to create challenges for this group but came across some restrictions with the site.

So, here is the challenge to start us all off again.

Calgary Stampede happens once a year (July 3-12) in Calgary, Alberta. It is known as the 'Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth' where thousands attend and enjoy some great outdoor fun with family and friends.

This coincides with Independence Day in the states too where I'm sure the celebrations and festivities are just as fun, with many people getting in on the outdoor action.

Both events are just under 3 months away. A good time frame to make some good gains.

That said, gain 15lbs by July 4th, 2009. Make the most gains you can by this date. That is the challenge folks.

This challenge is to motivate us towards two very energetic celebrations coming up that are not only fun but an opportunity to really unveil our transformations to the public, friends and family.

What's the reward? Well, it could have been a nice gold star with a red ribbon but I'm sure you can see that the real reward would be the surprised look on your friends' faces, the chance to celebrate your transformation without the feelings of insecurity and above all, find renewed peace with yourself.

Because this isn't a Gyminee created challenge, it would be hard to see how everyone is doing but, as a group, we can move forward and see increases for the group. Right now, body weight gain for the group is zero, nada! Perfect start. Lets see how high we can take it from now to then.

Post your progress here everyone. Good luck!
