Nutrition programs

Discussion started by buttermilkmeeks

Subject Description

I just wanted to ask everyone who is participating what nutritional programs or diets they are following?

I'm semi following the Eat Clean Diet (all of the books are authored by Tosca Reno) - which is mainly a lifestyle transformation instead of a diet. (The books are designed like magazines - lots of fluff and pretty pictures.)

I only got serious about tracking my nutritional intake after viewing a graphic that said your fitness goals will be determined by the following percentages:

10% Genetics

10% Exercise

80% Nutrition

That has been the driving motivational force behind my current fitness regimine.

Also, has anyone else found a fact or tip that has provided some motivation?

I like Jillian Michaels

I'm not a Biggest Loser watcher, so I was slow to check her out.  But I think she's great.

So in general I've been trying to track her recommended meal plan for me.

This is an easy site to join and get meal ideas from.  (www.jillianmichaels.com.) I also really like her recipes -- I've learned some tricks and I think they're delicious.

not a diet, just calorie counting

Hi there --

This is my first ever attempt to lose a little weight.  I'm starting slow and have not focused on any particular eating plan or "diet."  So far the awareness factor from logging in nutrition / calories on the DailyBurn has been a boon.  I really had no idea how many calories I was putting in my body a day!

Shape and Women's Fitness always have a lot of meal tips and ideas for snacks, lunch, dinner under 200, 300, 400 calories so I might start paying more attention to those suggestions.  Being a vegetarian I'm a bit more limited in terms of models/menus, but if anyone knows of a good vegetarian "diet" plan please post info!

Thanks and good luck!
