Mr. Woods here, with 20 pounds left to lose to achieve optimal BMI. I walk around 3 miles a day and eat right, which allowed me to lose 30 pounds in 2009.

Hi bDiddy. It is pretty easy to build your own workouts, and when you "update progress" (meaning that you did it again) it carries over your previous times/reps/weights. Pretty handy. When I got started here I also spent time looking at the workouts that others had created since I was pretty new to it.

Hi

bDiddy on MeFi. I'm planning on using the gym to burn off some of the sympathy weight I've been putting on. Probably gained more than my pregnant wife! Anyway, gym starts this weekend and this will help motivate me. Probably need ot drop 20-30 lbs, but we'll see what happens.

I'm new to the site. Is it easy to get a workout built on here?

Hey everybody - I'm cinemafiend @ MeFi

I really like this site - it has pretty much all of the excercise catagories that I need.

I've really been needing to track my lifts and cardio for a while and this has finally given me the kick in the ass I've needed.

Greetings from wild west Wales. I was going to leave this until the New Year, but thought it'd be better to start tracking things now, despite the seasonal whiskey glut, &c.

Enjoying what I've seen of the site so far, especially the tracking of food and exercise. Turning the thing into a game tickles my geek bone.

Good luck to all,

Hey everyone!

I'm ridiculously excited to be part of this.. A few years ago I lost a bunch of weight and due to a lot of stress, anxiety, depression and other crap, I gained it back.

I've since picked up some new coping skills to handle the crappy stuff and now I need to lose the weight again and keep it off..

Can't wait to get to know everyone a bit...

Just Got Here

I had to use my old internet handle since my new one wouln'd fit. Stupid web 2.0!

I'm really fat (320 lbs. @ 5'10") have a for-reals hormone problem (hypogonadism controlled with testosterone shots), smoke a pack a day, eat nothing but crap and don't exercise at all right now.

I joined We Endure a long time ago, but made no use of it becasue I didn't feel comfortable in the "super-fit" atmosphere there. I doubt I'll ever run a marathon, triathalon or anything else that requires serious running. At my weight, going out for a run is just begging for one of my knees to blow out.

I set up super-light goals of 7 minutes on the bike at home each day and 20 minutes of relatively easy-paced swimming at the Y on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. I plan to increase these at time progresses and maybe start weights later on.

Sorry to be so tl;dr, but I'm 38, in terrible shape and I want to live to see my kids into adulthood. So my goal is to get down to 220 lbs. from 320, which at 5'10" is probably still obese according to the BMI chart, but is a hell of a lot better than I am now.

If I become un-fat, does that mean I lose my right to righteous indignation in the obesity threads?

gmaps pedometer

Hi all

Thought I'd share a tip... I've been using the google maps pedometer (http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/) to track the walking that I do as part of my daily routine. I think I first learned about it on Metafilter, actually.

Cheers!

Yeah, I think the main guts of the site is the nutritional info, and the daily logging of food.

I had to provide a lot of info on fitday.com, too.
