Weight Loss Support - What is YOUR motivator??

I have only been trying to lose weight SERIOUSLY for about a month. My main downfall is being motivated. Sometimes looking at athletes motivates and reminds me of why I am doing this. I just want to what motivates other people and how they stay motivated.

My Motivation

It may sound common and clique, but my motivation is to feel damn hot completely naked. No lumps, no jiggles. The second motivation is being able to wear whatever I want and not worrying about "muffin-top" or " back fat". General heath is a strong motivator for me as well. I am only 23 but am trying to stay ahead of the game when it comes to athletic performance, physical attractivness and general fitness.

Photos

I keep a photo of myself on the fridge taken before my 60lb weightloss.

That's enough of a motivator to keep with it until the last 20lbs are gone.

My daughter is my main motivator. She can run and play nonstop and I want to be healthy and in shape to keep up with her!

my motivators

the things i want to do that motivate me to keep pushing are:

passing the first roller derby test - i failed the first time because of my fitness

being a bridesmaid in december

things i keep around me to keep me motivated and to remind me of why im doing this:

a picture of my roller skates pinned to the notice board in my office at work

and the dress im going to buy myself once ive lost 15kg

theyre just small things, but the help keep me focused. at home i keep my skates on the table where i can see them all the time!

I want to feel good in my own skin. I have been on Weight Watchers, but quit today, I have not been attending the meetings, but still want to lose weight, I just grew tired of the program. I want to get into smaller sizes, i.e. not plus sizes and wear younger looking clothes and feel good in them. I want to get around with my kids and not stay tired all the time.

Job Performance and Saving Lives

I'm a combat medic in the US Army so to stay in shape (or get back into shape in my case) is extremely important for my job performance. im not going to do much good if someone is calling "medic" and im just too fat to run over hand give them medical attention, much less carry them while under fire to another location to perform complicated procedures. my weight is also holding me back from a promotion to Sergeant, so theres that...

Kinda silly, but I love technology, and recently I realized, I want to live a long healthy life, so I can see the miracles of science 50+ years from now.

I have also gotten some motivation from hiking in yellowstone park. Seeing the majesty of nature, I came to realize that being a couch potato, I am missing out on so much of life!

I want to hike, bike, kayak, surf, scuba dive, etc. and my weight is holding me back.

Lastly this poem has helped me as well
Look to this day!
For it is life, the very life of life.
In its brief course
Lie all the verities and realities of your existence:
The bliss of growth
The glory of action
The splendor of beauty
For yesterday is but a dream
And tomorrow only a vision
But today well lived makes every yesterday a dream of happiness, and every tomorrow a vision of hope.
Look well, therefore to this day!
Such is the salutation to the dawn.
- Kalidasa, Indian Poet

Accountability to others & having Success

Nothing motivates me like having some success, but wishing for the the success doesn't make it happen. Establishing good steps of actions that will lead to that success is first, then actually doing those steps is the real accomplishment. That's where being accountable with someone is important. I work with people helping each other on this wellness journey, and we encourage, prod, motivate and hold each other accountable...And applaud each other for every success along the way.

check out my website: www.TheVernonBrownSite.com

read through the whole site, but especially the page titled "Vernon's Program", that tells about the One-on-One coaching we do.

We just completed a 12 week weight loss challenge yesterday, with 7 people who combined lost 92 lbs.
