Weight Loss for Women - Who else has 80+ pounds to goal?

I am taking smaller intermediate goals, but I have 80 to get to my over all goal, anyone in the same circumstance?

I was at around 280 three years ago. Every summer, I have no problem getting motivated and usually end up losing 20-30 pounds every year - but as soon as the crappy fall weather starts, my weightloss comes to a halt. I'm at around 210 on a good day now, though, so I'm thankful to have not put the weight back on. I still have 70 pounds until my goal weight, which may as well be 80+. I just want to see that scale hit under 200 for the first time, and be able to experience that feeling. Exciting! Don't get discouraged girls - we can all do this! :) /hugs

Challenge?

My goal is to loose 200 lbs total. I see there are others who have the goal of 100 lbs and think we should set a challenge to loose 100 lbs by May 1 2012. That is a little over a year away, and if you figure 2 lbs per week should get there.

A ball is a good idea. I do some machines I have been adding them gradually over the last 3 weeks. I had not thought of the ab machine. I could do that in the morning along with the walking and add the ball in the evening while watching tv.

I have congestive heart failure so the walking is to strenghthn my heart, I do it every day.

I am making progress. It is weird. My belly has not changed at all. But my legs are getting smaller. So my pants fit weird. They bag at the leg and the seat and still fit in the waist. If I keep this up I am going to look seriously strange. I am sure is is all the walking that is toning my legs. What do I do about my big belly. this is where I REALLY want to lose weight at. HELP!!!!

I currently weigh 279lbs, my goal is 135lbs. I need to lose 144 lbs. i have lost 6lbs in the last 2 weeks (3lbs a week). I know I need to take it off slowly.
Same

I have 120-140 lbs. to lose. I'm going to take it slow, otherwise it gets too overwhelming. 5-10 lbs. at a time is a good idea =) Those are achievable goals which takes away from the bigger goal. Kind of like putting quarters in a jar - they really add up after a while! Good luck, I'm rootin' for everyone here :D

I started with 112 to lose

Since I started in October, I've decreased that goal to 101 to lose. It feels daunting saying that. I have a goal to lose 5 lbs every month, so it feels easier to say, "I have 4 more lbs to lose this month." I also have a goal list that lets me see where I am in my journey, kinda like mile markers. 10 lbs lost, 20 lbs lost, Bye Class 3 Obesity, 50lbs lost/Out of the 200s, Bye Class 2, High School Weight, 75lbs lost, Obese? Me? Nope!, 100 lbs lost, and Healthy. I've had some slip ups, the stress level in my life is crazy, but I try to remember that we all can't be like the biggest loser, losing 5-10 lbs a week. We have lifes, we don't have doctors monitoring us 24/7, and we're doing this for the long term, which means that slowly changing what we do is more likely going to produce the effects we want and maintain that.

My ultimate goal is about 100 pounds... wow, it looks impossible from where I am now, so I am signing up for smaller challenges like 10 lbs, 20 lbs. I just tell myself that every ounce makes a difference. And I only just started last week.

Was just dx'd with diabetes two weeks ago, so I definitely HAVE to work on this.

Hi Ladies,

I have managed to take off about 60lbs so far and have just under 100 to go. I took off the first 60 by eating my last meal at around 6:30pm (as opposed to still snacking away at 10pm), eating off of smaller plates, and trying to get in a work out a couple days a week. Now I've lost enough that I can actually jog without discomfort in my joints and am seeing the weight come off so much easier!!! You are all so inspiring to me!

Looking to lose 77lbs

Well its that time of year again but this time I'm very motivated. I have been working out for the past three weeks no short cuts and the only supplement I use besides vitamins is Whey Protein. I want to loose 77lbs by July.

I am so sick and tired to buying Spanks, corsets and weight lost products that only work for a short period of time then only to gain back all the weight and then some. I am so sick and tired of not fitting into my clothes and gaining 10lbs a year.

If any one needs motivation I am here. I also join bodybuilders.com as my step father suggested and put together with this site I am leaving no room for failure.

Me too 68 kg (around 150lbs) in total to goal!

Hope though everyone is remembering not to focus on these seemingly huge numbers and to break it down into smaller goals - we don't want to get overwhelmed. As someone who has lost a large amount of weight in the past (and put it back on) we forget how great it feels even after the first 5, 10, 15kg and how soon it makes a difference in the way we feel and look.

Good luck everyone I know we can all achieve what we need to

To reach my ideal weight, I will have to lose 140 pounds. I've lost 10 pounds of it. ;-D. In my head I see myself losing between 40 and 60 pounds per year for the next 3 or 4 years. I've been overweight my entire life and I'm terrified of getting back on the cycle of lose-gain-lose-gain some more. I figure by going slow (40lb or so a year) that will give me time to really own and accept the lifestyle changes necessary.

I am there too

I have 05lbs to lose and I am terrified in making this life change and confused at all the information out there.

I just want to go back to my 20s when I could eat almost anything I wanted but was so active it didn't matter.

In setting everything up today it was very sobering. According to daily burn I need to reduce my cals to between 2093 and 2343 and in that way I will lose 1.1 lbs a week and it will take me 94 weeks to reach my goal - almost two years. I know I did not gain all this weight over night but I was hoping for a way to safely lose in about a year. I guess I was deluding myself.

Well these next two weeks are for getting my food under control and some cardio - mostly walking, to start off slowly and to see what I can do.

Look forward to hearing more about all of you on this journey.

njoying, I think the liquid diet is punishment enough lol

the key is to find a sustainable diet you can stick with for the rest of your life after you have finished the liquid diet.

I think I have learned alot more about what lifestyle changes I need to make now that I have started losing weight using a diet plan that I can stick to for the rest of my life. I have learned how to modify it to keep it interesting, while still maintaining my ideal calorie range.

I recommend seeing a dietician after your liquid diet is over so that he/she can help you to make sure you do not gain any weight back.

I kind of do too...

I started at 83 kg, while my *upper ideal weight on the medical check-up chart* is 50 kg.

Theorically that makes 33 kg (= 72 pounds) to lose. It's very likely I will find myself slim enough before reaching 50kg, so my mirror will decide when I stop.

I have already lost 19 kg (=42 pounds). That takes time, but I don't find it difficult.

(Most of the time), I eat regularly, healthy and balanced, it's not a real diet. I avoid the junk binging that made me fat. To get a calorie deficit, I do lots of walking/eliptical, sometimes walking. I do yoga and some DVD aerobic for shaping up.

That was tough to start... to get from chaos eating and spreading myself on the couch to more regular habits. But no, it's OK, I can go on like that forever.

I set intermediate a 5 kg goal on Dailyburn, then another 5 kg. I find it more motivating.

So everybody, let's go !
