Subject Description
anyone tried the new sketchers shoes? I thought about trying them, but they are around 100 bucks. If they work, I might try it anyway.

Easy TonesI didn't buy the Skechers, but I did buy the Reebok Easy Tone shoes last weekend. I've been wearing them steadily this week at work and I can tell a slight difference in muscle engagement. It's not a monumental difference - but just a little something extra I notice at the end of the day. I'll keep you posted on any noticeable 'end' results ;) Posted by 262training on Nov. 12, 2009 at 01:53PM |

Shape-up changing how you walk?I got a pair because I needed some new shoes to walk to work in and I figured why not try these. I don't feel anything special from them, I do walk heal toe already and someone told me that they are more for training you how to walk heal toe, so if I already do then I am already engaging all those muscles, (which I am positive are rock hard under the fatoflage I hide them in.) What I do like about them is that they are SUPER comfortable. My commute walk is a little over a mile each way on pavement. they are super comfortable, if I stop and am standing around my feet don't hurt, it is sort of like standing in beach stand. It would be interesting to know if someone who is a stomper when they walk has a different experience than me.

Workout/toning- No, Comfort- yesI got the shape up sandals this summer and I have to say that when I wear them I free no difference in all on how my legs feel. At least for me I don't think they work. Maybe the sneakers are better or different, I am not sure. But on the other hand I have to say they are the most comfortable pair of sandals that I own. I feel like I am walking on air and my feet rarely hurt at all when I wear them. So if you are getting them for comfort then yes, go for them. If you are going for weight lost or muscle toning, I am not sure that they will do anything. I am interested in what others think of them. Posted by ladybugcutie on Aug. 20, 2010 at 08:52AM |

ProductMy hunny bunny is a product liablity lawyer and I have to say that when he starts chortling about a product, I get leery of purchasing it. He's been watching the biomechanics of several people at our gym who wear them and he's convinced that there's going to be some long term joint issues. Having seen a couple of them, I can't disagree with him on them. My boss at work - who's male - ran out and bought a pair after his hernia surgery and his doctor made him stop wearing them until he had healed because of the extra pressure it puts on the abdominal wall. So it definitely changes the physical action of walking.
The closest that I've seen to anything like this that really worked was a shoe a while back that was filled with a substance to simulate walking/running in sand.

shape-up shoesI got a pair when I was Pregnant but was unable to use them until after the birth of my son. I where when I workout and it makes you work on your balance. I also where them when I do P90X Plyometrics and I can tell it makes me work harder because my feet feel very heavy Posted by coopershy8 on Nov. 10, 2010 at 11:55AM |

My sister in law has the reebok ones, and I tried them on a day that my muscles were really sore, and when I walked in them, different muscles hurt than were hurting when I walked in normal shoes, so they definately make a difference, however I would be leery of wearing them to workout in if you are doing any more than walking. If they change the muscles you are using, then you don't know if you are using correct form to prevent injury. Posted by dgibney on Nov. 11, 2010 at 10:56AM |
