I do an intense boot camp 3x a week. The 2 other days I either go to spin class, kickboxing class or do ellipticla machine. I eat very well. 1200 to 1600 cal. per day . Don’t eat junk food. However the scale, the measurements, the percenet body fat has not changed in 4 MONTHS. I need suggestions to get a move on my body! Thanks
Tell us more about you: your weight and body fat percentage (for a tiny person, 1,600 calories a day might be maintenance level), whether you are weighing and measuring your food and recording every single calorie, whether you've ever gone on starvation diets (and thus reduced your metabolism), etc.
I'm 5'2" and weigh about 140. I've tried it ALL over the pat 3-4 years. Weight watchers, Jenny Craig, Nutrisystem. Never starved myself. I do write down what I eat and pay attention to portion sizes. I'm now logging food in here. I don't weigh my food and didn't count calories till I joined this web site yesterday. I really don't know what I'm doing wrong. I'll admit I splurge now and then too.
1500 to 1800 sounds about right. If you're getting regular exercise, you should be able to lose safely on that. One to two pounds a week is a good target to shoot for, and people who aren't that big to begin with are probably going to lose about a pound a week. All diets "work" if we can stick to them. Compliance is the problem. Also, exercise has to be part of the plan in order to maintain fat loss. If you make the effort to weigh and measure everything, you'll be rewarded. People who don't have a very hard time accurately estimating how much they're eating. Numerous studies indicate that even health professionals do a bad job of estimating what they're eating. Weigh and measure it, and you'll know precisely.
I don't eat junk food either, was watching everything I ate and working out 4 times a week with no results. I have been using the website since January 1st and to date I have lost 17lbs. I figured out that just because I was eating healthy doesn't mean I was eating the right amounts or the right stuff. Today, I measure and weigh everything I eat and I also set my calorie and carb intake to a lower than they recommmended. It seems to be working for me. Hang in there, once you break your plateau the weight will also start to fall off. Also, remember that muscle weighs more than fat and if the number on the scale isn't falling you still may be losing inches. Goodluck!
