Your Goals

Subject Description

Hi! I'm just wondering what everybody on here hopes to achieve. After all, we've all joined for a reason!

Now that new year's a distant memory, how are you all doing with your resolutions? If we have an active group we can all hep motivate and help each other!

I'll start then! My goal's to lose my belly! Simple as that! The plan I've chosen to do this is a low carb diet with weight training and early morning cardio.

How about everyone else now?

My (vain) Goals...

My goals have changed over the last 3 years.  I didn't exercise for the best part of my 40 odd years but cholesterol, weight, depression, etc., forced a lifestyle change. And I wanted to be able to play with my 2 young sons.

My initial goal was to lose weight - lost 10kg in a year. (Now a stable 83kg).

Then I started gymming with 2 other chaps at work who knew what they were doing.  They took me under their wing and my goals changed.

My new goals are simple, very selfish and very very vain :o))

  • build up muscle mass - arms, chest, legs
  • lower body fat (still haven't measured it)
  • increase strength (e.g. pull-ups, deadlift, press-ups, bench press, etc)
  • pose on the beach and at the pool and not worry about the belly any more!!!

Oh I nearly forgot - more cardio work.  My ultimate goal is to run a half marathon. My immediate goal is to run a 5miler on Boxing Day. Not sure which year though;o)

Anyone else's goals?

My Goals

Hi Everyone,

DaddyBoy, I applaud your training and also reasons for training.  I’ve been fortunate that I’ve trained and cross trained in a variety of sports all my life.  However, now that I’m getting on a bit (41), I find competing with the youth increasingly hard.  So to maintain my fitness I’ve got to train more specifically and smarter, rather than just for the pleasure than I can train.  What I want to do is increase my strength endurance and speed, without losing my strength.  But I think a realistic target is to slow down the loss of fitness I have.  Sorry if that sounds negative.  For ideas and variety to your training, have a look on www.crossfit.com

My Goal

Hello Everyone,

My goal is simple, it is to lower my body fat for the summer. I am currently on the obese level, and want to drop down to the healthy and presentable level.

Goals

Started out to get toned particularly chest.  Have gone further than I ever expected to with my training over past 18months.   Been at it hard in the gym minimum 3 times a week but often five or six.  Now find I have to totally exhaust myself to get any gains at all.  And with two small kids finding the time is really tough.   I kinda thought I'd get there and then just relax and go to the gym once a week to maintain but now know thats not the case.   Not there yet...
