Training for the zombie apocalypse - Favorite Zombie Movie

I'm sure this group loves the whole zombie genre, but which ones do you like more than others.

I'm a pretty big fan of the Resident Evil series. The movies and the video games are all really good.

Dawn of the Dead

Gotta agree with Jim on this one. The original Dawn of the Dead had everything going for it. Romero really nailed it, though I think Day of the dead was creepier in a lot of ways.

Skip LET SLEEPING CORPSE LIE...

I went back and watched LET SLEEPING CORPSES LIE (aka LIVING DEAD AT MANCHESTER MORGUE) and I have no idea why I liked it so much when I saw it many years ago.

It has two tension filled scenes - and the rest is really boring. Apologies if anyone sought it out because of my recommendation!

European Zombie films

I must admit that I have a thing for European zombie films - especially Italian zombie films.

Most of the Italian zombie films from the seventies and eighties were inspired by Romero's DAWN OF THE DEAD so you can imagine the gore involved... ZOMBIE (featuring an underwater fight between a zombie and a shark as seen in a recent Microsoft commercial), NIGHTMARE CITY (the first fast moving zombie film),

However, one of my favorite zombie films has to be the Spanish film LET SLEEPING CORPSES LIE (aka LIVING DEAD AT MANCHESTER MORGUE) which is available on dvd and blu-ray. Although the film is poorly dubbed into English, this movie really knows how to ratchet up tension. Perfect film for realizing the cardio and strength requirements necessary to survive the zombie apocalypse...

Night of the Living Dead

I loved this movie. I actually saw it in a theater so I got the full gross effect. It was hilarious. We won't have to train real hard to get away from those Zombies but I swear I will try!

I have to agree, the original tops them all. Shaun of the Dead, 28 Days Later, Day of the Dead...oh who am i kidding..I really love any zombie movie.

The hopelessness, the futile attempts at fixing our horrible mistakes as the human race. Love it all.

The Original that is... saw it as a kid. From then on, I have been preparing.

Fast moving zombies are uber frightening! At least we have a chance against the slow movers.

now i know 28 days later isn't technically a zombie movie. but it is my favorite movie where a lot of people become infected by something and then lose their humanity and try to eat the few people that are infection-free.

also, fast zombies are the scariest thing i can think of.
