About Me
I gained a lot of weight when I gave my son up for adoption when he turned 5 years old, and me and his dad broke up. I ate everything in sight. It has been very challenging to change habits and start practicing healthier ones. I am now at 191.5 as of yesterday, and joined this site 2.18.2010. I am hoping to inspire others that I have lost 10 pounds short of 100 pounds, (though it's taken me about 3 years, and that's with not as much effort as I could have put in, though!). I hope to meet some others with similar goals. I want to get down to 160 or even 150. I think I can do it!! I've come this far, why not?

Hi! I was reading your journal and I noticed that you might have carpel tunnell.. if you feel that you want to get a firm diagnosis because there is a good chance u may not have carpel tunnell, go see a chiropractor. He'll adjust your extremities (arms and wrists)- C.T. usually over diagnosed. Just a possibility :) Hope all is well!!

so far i've had two cheat meals total and been on my diet for a week and 3 days. so that's not too bad! my co worker said it looks like i am "withering away". that may be a bit of an overstatement, but it still felt nice to hear that. I went to the doctor yesterday and got a tetanus shot, so now my left arm is very, very sore.... cant do any weight lifting until that settles down.. but i need the shot, so its okay. otherwise just enjoying life... going to an open house for a community college that i plan to go to this fall... doing that tonight at 5pm with a friend so i'm looking forward to that. doctor said my wrists seem fine according to the basic tests she has done, but she gave me some pamphlets on how to deal with aching wrists and hand pain, and what to do to prevent carpel tunnel.... so now i have a wirst brace!! i am hoping to buy some work out gloves soon too, because i noticed the weights are giving my hands calluses.... they kinda hurt... oh well. i should just toughen' up, seems like the whole exercise lifestyle is generally kinda painful in some form or another!

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome & Weight Lifting
I was diagnosed with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome about 6 years ago. I would advise that you consult with a professional Personal Trainer for advice. I lift weights twice a week - despite my Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. There is also a yoga posture that helps with my symptoms. Good luck!

carpel tunnel and weight lifting
I have a pretty hint that I have had carpel tunnel for about two years now. It was never bad before but i work 40 hours a week typing. Also I noticed now that i have started my training program lifting weights, my right hand cramps up REALLY bad about half way in to my workout. I am wondering if this is just natural that it cramps because of the fact my body isn't used to me lifting ( i never used to lift, ever!) or if maybe i have a more serious underlying problem. Did anyone else get this cramping when they first started? It makes it hard to spread my fingers apart without them hurting, mostly only on the right side. I don't know if that's because I use my right side more than i use the left when pushing weights, or what. I will be really bummed if i find out i can't lift because of this problem, because i was SO excited to have finally found out the #1 way to burn fat!! Which is lifting! And if i can't do it afterall, it's going to be very upsetting...!!

So.. day 3 of the new diet... and training program.. although i did not start the exercises at the gym until day 3. Been drinking lots of water. Waiting for my "product/supplement" to come in the mail. It's called Optimum Nitro Core 24 and I purchased the 3 Lbs container for $25.00 off of bodybuilders.com. It is caramel toffee fudge flavored, so I'm excited to try it! According to the FedEx online tracking statement, it should be on my steps or porch when I get home from work this morning :D This diet I thought would be a lot harder to follow, but it's keep me very full - I never thought the whole eating 5-6 times per day and having them be smaller meals would work out so well for me. I'm not even craving any bad foods, because even though it's only been 3 days, I feel like my efforts would be so wasted if I just started back up with old eating habits now! I'll be going to the gym again today to do my legs workout and also some HIIT cardio.. I did arms yesterday... and MAN do I feel it today!! My muscles in my arms were getting SO tired that by the middle of my arm workout, I tried to lift my arms up to put my hair in a pony tail, and they would hardly budge!! I had to FORCE my arms up that direction and even then, it almost felt like they were too weak! Strange feeling indeed..
