About Me

My name is Amisha. I am a 28 year old mother of a 2 1/2 year old, very active little boy. I'd like to give you a little background on me. I've been overweight all of my life and my situation is compounded by the fact that when I was 16, I developed a condition called Lymphedema. This causes my feet and lower legs to swell (most likely due to damage caused to the lymphatic system - I think I twisted my ankle really bad once after that, the swelling never went away). In any event, there's no way to fix it...and over time, it got worse. And putting on weight makes your vessels work harder, so my swelling increased. When I was pregnant with my son I reached 284lbs and my feet were so swollen i could not get shoes on. 2 weeks after delivery, I lost 40lbs. I have been hovering around 240-250lbs for the last 2 years. Finally, on 01/04/2010 I made a committment to myself. I was going to change my eating habits and start working out. So I decided to go gung ho. I quit smoking cold turkey and I started the Insanity program from Beachbody's own Shaun T. I did this at 250lbs!!!! Well I lost 16lbs with the program and felt great. After that, I decided that since I was making such good progress that I've never seen before and decreasing the swelling in my legs, I wanted to help others do this. I kept myself accountable by sending out motivational emails (including a challenge, quote, and health resources) daily to friends, family, and coworkers that were on their own weight loss journeys. I figured that if I can try to motivate others, I will change my negative attitude into a positive one and motivate myself as well. AND IT WORKED! My email subscriber list had grown substantially. At this point, I thought to myself...even though I'm not exactly at my goal, I can still be a beachbody coach. At least people know that I am going through this journey with them and I am really wanting to motivate them. :) So that's what I did. Since then I have also completed another round of P90X mixed with Insanity and I've recently been turned on to Turbo Jam and it's now my favorite...so I am super excited about Turbo Fire as it is kind of like Turbo Jam meets Insanity. The best of both worlds for me...since I am now a Cardio Junkie and proud of it! I am proud to announce that within 4 months, I have lost 33lbs overall and counting!! I've gotten my nutrition mastered down to a science and I work out usually anywhere from 5-7 days per week for about 45 minutes per session. I'm not killing myself to do this and the weight is still coming off...and I'm excited. I've went from a size 18 to a size 14...and my size 14 skinny jeans are now starting to fall off as well! :) Sorry this post is so long, but I really want you to know where I am coming from. If you need any information or would like to try Turbo Fire with me....feel free to join my challenge (starts June 28th) or contact me. I'm willing to help those that use beachbody products and those that don't. It doesn't matter to me. I just want to help as many people reach their goals as possible. That's more rewarding to me than money or the amount of weight that I lose personally. I look forward to talking to you.
