    Falling off the wagon

So, I completely fell off the wagon and haven't been to the gym in nearly 9 months or so. Life got in the way- I got "too busy", we adopted a wonderful puppy, and I am sure I could list 10 other excuses. At this point, enough is enough. I turn 30 in 4 months and I refuse to reach that day in the shape that i am in. Most of my jeans either do not fit or are ripped and I hate that. Today is a new day. No more being lazy. I CAN DO THIS. I started the Couch to 5K yesterday and I am excited to really get the ball rolling on this. I know it is not going to be easy, because I absolutely hate to run, but I have faith that this will buildthe endurance I need to actually enjoy the activity. Besides, I live a 5 minute walk from one of the loveliest running trails in the US. Why would I NOT run? I'm also hoping that after a few weeks I will have the mindset and courage to go back to the gym and start taking those spin classes again that I loved so much. I really felt so amazing when I did them- even when I was only able to make it once a week. And it was SO GREAT to open up the daily burn and log my completed work out with a huge, albeit, tired grin on my face. Today is a new day. :)

    Title...

Thanks for the props on the quinoa salad! I'm kind of a quinoa addict...In fact, I've got a batch of breakfast quinoa cooking in the rice cooker right now with cinnamon and a little ghee - yum. ;)

    M.I.A.

So, I will admit I haven't been logging on to the Daily Burn as often as I'd like. I've mainly been popping on each week to log my workouts. But I have been working out and eating healthy. I actually entered myself into a "Lean Body Challenge" at my gym last night. it is a 10 week program where participants compete to see who can build the leanest body, which is achieved through exercise and nutrition. Each Monday there will be a weigh in and Body Fat % will be logged. Points are gained through going to the gym, taking classes, drinking a recovery shake, etc. I'm excited about it and I think this will give me the push that I really need. I've been noticing results from spinning once a week but they aren't near the results I would like to be seeing. I'm going to be kicking up my spinning workout to at least 2 times a week, hoping for 3 times. I will also be speaking with someone about resistance training, which is an aspect that I have been completely avoiding because I am unsure of what to do. Anyway, we'll see how it goes. I hope you are all well!!

    Hi now

You are doing great at your workouts! I went to a Pilates instructors last week and even scheduled appts but then i ended up getting upset with her and canceling. I think that I will try to do my dvds at home. Good luck. Maybe I will speak to you later. Dan helped me into the car earlier when it was raining. He was on his way to pick you up. Lina misses you, Muah.
