Working out at home
I have a gym membership but I can't seem to bring myself to do weight lifting there. I think my healthy balance is splitting workouts between the gym and my living room. I use the gym to get out of the house I live-sleep-work-eat-relax in and mostly for their cardio machines, pool, and yoga classes. Our house is so amazing and is the perfect supplement to my workouts. We put my new bike on a trainer and have the following equipment in house: free weights, stretch bands, loop bands, yoga mats, foam rollers, and stability ball. We'll hopefully have a bosu soon and I'll be able to do all my weight lifting at home, mix up my cardio with running, walking the dogs, and outdoor cycling, and then finish it up with classes / machines / pool at Club One. The best part is that I can even ride to the gym on backroads in my neighborhood. I'm liking where this is going.

Skinny Jean Wiggle
I did the skinny jean wiggle the other day in the kitchen. It was the final stage of adjusting a freshly washed pair of jeans. You know what I'm talking about... you spread your knees and squat a bit while wiggling to make sure they're on right? What I didn't realize that Aaron was watching me. He realized when he said "what was THAT?!?!" HAH! I replied "what, you've never seen the skinny jean wiggle? I GUESS NOT! You try putting these on after they're washed and then you'll understand."

Changing up the bike
After riding my Solis all of ten times or so we decided to sell it. I cant be held COMPLETELY responsible for the lack of use because the bike didn't actually fit me properly. The good news is that in place of that Solis Aaron got me a Specialized Ruby! I've never though of a bike as sexy buy she sure is. The best part? She fits me! I now know what it's like to ride a bike that compliments my body appropriately. I feel stronger, I ache in the appropriate places, and overall it's given me more motivation to ride. I really appreciate how encouraging and patient Aaron has been with getting me to ride. He even brought home an indoor trainer because he knows I want to ride indoors. <3 Yesterday I learned how to set up the bike on the trainer alone (included getting greasy) and installed my book mount. It's much hotter than riding out doors but at least I can work on cardio at home and start working on my biking muscles on my own terms. I don't care what anyone says, I am a multitasked at heart and I'll be on the bike much more if i can read or get some work done at the same time. The only funny looks I'll get will be from the dogs and I'm okay with that.

Two Sizes
It's amazing to me what big changes happen with small losses of weight. Let me just preface this with the fact that I have about 20 pairs of jeans. They are all different sizes and some of them are the same style. I picked up what I thought were my "favorite pair of jeans" and when I put them on they were slightly snug and a lot lighter than I remembered them. I searched every pair laying around and couldn't find another pair so I just assumed they were the same pair. I wore them out and was still confused the next day because I didn't have my belt yet they weren't baggy. Hmm, weird. It finally made sense when I realized that I left my jeans in Aaron's car, no wonder I couldn't find them! So what am I wearing now? The exact same style (yet slightly more worn in) of my daily jeans except in a size 9 vs a size 11. Ahh, nice. I can't remember the last time I wore my size 9 jeans without thinking "whoa, this is going to be uncomfortable all day". Now they're starting to fit better than my dailies. Dropped another pound yesterday with an additional 3%. Moving on down!

Dinners
I'm pretty lucky to have a roommate who cooks extremely healthy. Post is also generous enough to make extra portions every time he cooks (every night). After my workout this evening I came home to a plate of baked salmon and corn/peas. It is the perfect portion for after my workout and exactly what I needed. I feel much better than I did earlier today thanks to a good workout and good food. I'm looking forward to taking Lady out for a walk in the morning too. I wish I could ride my bike and still control her but I know there's NO chance of that. Guess we'll have to be content with strolling the streets... now wheres the gentle lead (my arm cant take much more tugging).
