About Me

Though I always hated sports as a child (I blame this on impatient gym teachers and softball coaches), these days I love to partake in physical activity. I love to swim, dance, go to exercise classes at the gym (BodyCombat ftw!) and I'm nurturing a fledgling running habit (I'm trying to find a great running spot, so I can start Couch-to-5K). I'm really not interested in weight loss so much as fitness - I'm a big believer in the "Health At Every Size" movement. I think that the BMI is a load of crap, and that if you're eating a good (read: nutritious, low-fat, controlled-sugar - not that atkins/low carb crap, which is terrible for your heart) diet and exercising enough, it's unnatural to attempt to push your weight lower and lower. I guess you could say that I'm a proud fathlete - at the very least, I can run further and faster than my skinny friends. XD
