    Sugar Splurge

    Even nutritionists can overdo it on sugary sweets. Thanks to my thoughtful friends, I have mini cupcakes, gourmet malted milk balls, and homemade dark chocolate nut clusters hanging around my house post-birthday celebration. I can't resist--they're so delicious! To help balance the temporary sugar splurge, I'm walking a little extra and making my lunches and dinners veggie based.

    Birthday Blitz!

    Had a blast with my friends at my birthday soiree! Big thanks to our favorite neighborhood wine bar Turks and Frogs for giving us the back room for the evening!! But after all that wine and chocolate, I plan to load up on my veggies today---as a matter of fact I just ordered the four veggie plate from Westville (beets with walnuts, mashed sweet potatoes, roasted cauliflower, and collard greens)--superfood to the rescue!

    Dinner at Buddakan!

    Group dinner last night at Buddakan ( So, so delicious!! But weighing in at around 2000 calories means a few extra workouts and a few less desserts this coming week. It's all about balance.

    Happy New Year!!

    I've been using Daily Burn consistently for 3+ months now, and it's been a great tracking tool, plus the motivator I need to get me to the gym consistently. Fitness Goals for 2010: Walk ~3 miles/day (~10,000 steps), Spin 2x/week, Incorporate more Yoga and Pilates movements into my strength workouts, Try a few new gym classes each month

    I'm back and ready to go!

    Seven days in Mexico, and I made it to the gym twice. But we did walk a mile or two every night after dinner. It was nice to get away, but I'm ready to get back into the gym. Tried a new spin class tonight with Aimee--50 minutes of grueling work and it felt great!!
