About Me
The weight has been creeping on most of my adult life, but I really started to notice it after my marriage in 2003. I'd like to drop a couple of dress sizes and this is the year that I've started to get serious. 30 mins elliptical cross training most mornings is now the norm. It took 3 weeks to become a habit, and some days it's a real struggle to do it. However, despite increasing the exercise and decreasing the calories, I am still the same weight as last month. I'm hoping that this is due to muscles developing - but it is a little depressing to say the least.

New Year New Me!
OK, so I'm almost back where I started from. This is not good, but I have been eating badly over Christmas and New Year and the exercise had slipped badly. So now I'm determined to sort this out.

Just fine now.
The shoulder has fully recovered, thanks for asking. (I was really worried for a while, but it looks like it just was a temporary overuse injury.) I've been swamped with work and other stuff, so it's not hard to "catch up" with my blog right now. ;) Thanks for the note, and it's nice to see you back around here. :)

Getting Back To The Diet and Exercise
Summer should be a great time to lose weight, but work and holidays just sap my motivation. However, I'm now getting back into things. I managed to dislocate (and re-locate) a rib whilst I was away, so took thinkgs a bit easy for a while. I've also found it harder to control what I eat when I'm away. Just coming back on the site is motivating me though, and the knowledge that although I haven't lost a lot, at least I've lost some and stopped getting bigger. I'm already well on the way to dropping at least one dress size!

Bad 2 weeks diet wise
Haven't been on here much recently - it's been pretty hectic at work and socially. My weight's been yo-yoing and the diet's been pretty much out the window. It all started with a hen night, I decided to forget the diet for the night, but try not to overdo it too much. No hope, not in a Mexican restaurant where everything seemed to come with soured cream and guacamole and cheese (ages since I last had a sizeable amount of cheese). Next day, working, with food provided (toasted sandwiches and chips). Yes, I could have taken something healthy, but the day after a hen night..... didn't have the energy. That evening was a bbq, great salads, but only sausages on the grill. Still, socially I had a good time. Then the run up to my friends' wedding. First hubby is asked to play his trumpet for the entrance and exit, when he gets tense, so do I. Then I get asked to lead the singing. Now we're both tense. Then it's the stag night and off hubby goes, leaving me and the 'wrong type' of food to my own devices. Not good. Finally, the wedding. I had chicken, and salmon, and salad. Then eton mess (meringue, cream and berries), not so good. Then picking at food again in the evening. But I enjoyed myself. This week will be better. I'm already upping the salad. I shall also get back to the exercise in a bigger way. Then it's away on holiday - body boarding, cycling, walking. I've enjoyed the last fortnight, but I mustn't let myself go back to my old ways of eating.

Fruit
I figure there are much worse things to eat all day but I would like to have some left for tomorrow and the next day. The white honey melon I got was awesome. It was almost candy sweet! I at least got in all my food groups!
