    Up and Down

So my weight has been all over the map--207 to 202 to 209 to 203. Right now it's at 209. It's a horrible large number for me--it's the first time I've approached 210 in several years. It's hard to see after so much effort. Since my motivation is high and since the community support on this site has been, well, pretty pathetic, I've signed up at stickk.com and made a very expensive commitment contract with myself. I will reach my goal this year or an organization I hate will receive a lot of money. I hope this is the last push I need.

    Confession

I've been terrified to weigh in. The last two months have been a blur of badness and I have been afraid to see the number on the scale. But I'm fessing up to myself and acknowledging the badness is done and I can only move forward if I have real, concrete, tangible goals. So tomorrow's the day. Wish me luck.

    Binge

Going on two and a half good days--not necessarily great, clean eating days like I was used to just a month or two ago, but at least not the cringe-inducing-binges of the last few weeks. I'm retraining myself to slow down when I eat and eat only what my body wants (not six times that much). I never thought it would be so hard, particularly after so much success. But some new habits die hard. While I know 90% of the battle is diet, at least the other 10% is going well. A number of good, energizing, FUN workouts this week. And I'm just getting ramped up to train for two more races: a half-marathon in October and a 4-mile turkey trot on T-day. I may, if things work out, also run a December marathon. I'm not sure why I like training for these events as much as I do, but I've missed it. And it really helped with my overall balance and sense of well-being. I'm not sure I'm looking forward to the 20 mile training runs, but I'm certainly not dreading them. So here's to keeping myself focused, on track, and happy.

    Just keep at it!

I hit several rough patches myself. If you check out my weight graph, you can see I was stuck around 200 for a long time. I just couldn't break through it. I've been slacking for a few days myself lately, work overload :( Thanks for the comment though! Just keep at it!

Out of Town But Not Out of It

Lots of travel; no logging in from the road, at least the way I was travelling. But I'm back and logging away! Despite succumbing to temptation this morning--local scones = perfection--I'm doing well and will run a moderate calorie deficit all week.
