    groundhog run

I was close to Katie (28 year old!). She had more of a kick in the end than me, but at least I could see her. That was exciting. Finished in 71:47, which was faster than at WPR, but still slower than the 60's I want. My legs just can't go that long. At least I did not fall this time, ha! I know with some training I will get under 70, so that's my goal. I really did not train for this one at all. Running once every week or two just does not cut it...

    10 k's

I haven't been on here for a while. I did finish a 10K through WPR in November. My legs were NOT prepared for that. Official time was under my goal time of 73:00, but not by much. I would have thought I could do it in the 60's. Anyway, we signed up for the Groundhog 10K the end of January and I am trying to work my way up to that distance again. My legs are just so darn tired. I am not sure what the problem is. It must have something to do with my work environment. I do sit a lot more now than ever before. Hate it! And I just don't feel like working out after that. Mostly because of my legs though. I will HAVE To get over that and fight through it.

    VA Home 5K

Another good one. 32:18 and I felt strong at the end. The first mile was great, right at 10:00, the 2nd mile stunk at over 11. Larry saw me halfway through that one and said I looked like a 90 year old. I did run abouut 2.5 miles before walking for the first time, but was really disappointed at my 2 mile mark. Well, room for improvement... I did win a gold medal for my age group, and there were five total!!!

    Powell Gardens

32:05. I was hoping for a PR, because I felt really good. Oh well. Next time. Decent course on a beautiful day. Finished 5th in my age group, getting ever so closer to third :-) and 49th overall. There were 15 in my age group and 120 runners overall.

    13.1 in one day

This was a half marathon that my daughter challenged me to run two years ago, and has been my goal for this year--I'm not sure I was quite ready for the distance, but I completed it! You still have plenty of time to catch up--I'm pretty stiff and sore, so I'll be taking it easy, and you don't have to worry about me repeating that distance any time soon. :-)
