Lost a Lot with Medifast, then gained 1/2 back so
In early April 2009, I started on a 6 month trial with Medifast. I lost about 28 lbs but stopped because my body just couldn't stand it anymore. I felt weak, "gutted", my hair was falling out and my bones felt rather exposed and sore when I sat on chairs or lay in a bath tub. I felt ravenous, as if my body was dying for some other kind of food. I got so many compliments about my weight loss and I just loved fitting into my old clothes. I went cold turkey into trying to eat 'normally" and before I knew it, I'd gained back about 13 lbs. in 5 months. So here I am... after much researching and experimenting with Traditional Foods, organic, cod live oil/coconut oil, low-carb eating. I now think that I will not go back to Medifast and instead will go back to logging in my nutrition for everything I eat daily, and darn it!... I'll have to exercise... the one thing I let slip almost daily during the cold months. I just started logging my food here today. Here we go! I'll be checking my friends here to see how they have fared all this time. Hello everybody!

been getting to sleep very late ~ 4 or 5am lately and sleep into the day. woke tonight out of anxious dream. have been unemployed and money-strapped. and with this time of peri-menopause, i feel like my grandmother or some older aunt. i rarely look like a pretty, youthful woman anymore and i don't want to be in videos or pics. i wonder how i can show up for life like this. and wonder if it just gets worse and it's all downhill from here. then, i remember byron katie. and she was in her 40's and out of shape and uncared for. she must now be in her 60's and she looks trim and great! i feel strongly that it was an INTERNAL SHIFT for her... not so much what exercise/diet she's on.

ugh
past few days have been intense prepping for surprise gig. and i became very vulnerable. i find out today that i'm also having a big hormonal shift. probably the big reason. my food-logging has gone to the wayside as i ate cheetos and cake slices. and lots of snapples. i see that i definitely turn to snacks to hopefully make me feel better. tomorrow will need to clean house as much as possible to be able to host sandy. let's see where i am tomorrow and get back on track here.
