    Keeping the Motivation

    A lot has been said about motivation. I see posts here on Gyminee and I hear it at work and the gym. Some people walk in grumbling and not wanting to be there which I don't think helps your workout. You have to find a reason to be at the gym. Whether it be to feel and look better, to take a break from your day or just because it is now part of your routine. And that's the kicker... making the gym "part of your routine." I personally like to workout around 2pm everyday. I find I get sleepy around 2:30 pm, so by going to the gym prior to that, I bypass that sleepy feeling and my day is more energized. I now have it in my mind that going to the gym is "part of my day." When I don't go (ie: yesterday I had other appointments that took time out of my day) I feel out of sorts. My day doesn't seem complete. And it's good to note that these things happen. Life happens! Some days other priorities get in the way. And that's OK. Just track your reasons in your fitness journal and when you look back you will be able to find ways to get around the missed workout. Today, I will go to the gym and work a little longer and harder to compensate for not making yesterday. So when your motivation wanes, your life gets too busy or you're not feeling up to par... don't beat yourself up for not making it to the gym. Just set your mind on working a little harder next time. You're body will thank you!!

    Lovin it!

    Well, as far as I can see, I've lost 10 lbs. Seems like I should have lost more with the amount I've amped up my routine and been diligent with my meals..but 10 is 10 and better than nothing. I finally bought a new scale and was quite disappointed to realize that my old scale was out about 5lbs. I've joined Yak's Fitness and love it!! such a nice facility. Clean, open, large variety of machines, free weights and cardio equipment. Shelley and Chris are very approachable and helpful, which is a bonus. I'm having trouble getting my protein levels where they should be.. can't seem to get enough. I think I will try the WHEY powder to help boost my protein intake. I've measured myself as well. Waist is slimming, calves growing and hips slimming. My upper and middle abs are really starting to tighten up as is my butt and thighs. Give me 21 more weeks and I should have some REAL results here.

    Going Good

    Well the working out has been going good. I really enjoy the exercise. I am going to check out Yak's Gym as I'm a little tired of the shabbiness and size of my current gym. I am going to buy a new scale. The one I have is useless. And I don't want to rely on weight alone but it a nice road-marker. I have measured myself and will do so again in a month. Should be interesting. I'm really starting to feel better about myself. Gotta get my fat-burning game on before we head off to Mexico.

    Well, I have been working out since Jan. 7, 2008. I have maintained 6 days a week of exercise, either at the gym or at home on the treadmill. The scale (at home) doesn't seem to have moved an inch. The one at the gym seems to show that I've lost 8 lbs. I need to measure myself so that I can see results in inches. I can certainly see a transformation starting in my legs, butt and waist. I think I'm going to buy a new scale and possibly some calipers to do my body fat percentage.
