Trying to get back on track
Did a lot of cycling on my vacation, but just finally entered my miles....stayed so busy during my trip that I didn't spend much time on my laptop, which is a good thing...

My first Century Ride
Wanted to attempt a local Century ride on the Blackwater Trails in Lynchburg. My new hybrid bike is getting a tune up at Bikes Unlimited, so I used my mountain bike. I forgot how heavy it is. The longest ride I had on that bike was around 65 miles. The weather was perfect today, I stayed on the shaded trails as much as I could, didn't want to get sun baked. I plan on another Century ride on May 3rd, from Chesapeake to Waverly, VA and back to Chesapeake.

Seagull Century
Very flat, and very well supported. There was 8,000 people out last weekend. With that many people, car's don't really have a choice except to notice you. If you serious about trying for it, practice your pack riding skills, as that seems to be the most dangerous part. As for the ride, the only real problem is the wind. If you're on a 'bent it shouldn't hit you quite as bad. If you are on a standard, non recumbent,. there are lots of pacelines to link up with to help fight the wind.
