    wats my secret

If I'm good at one thing...it's gaining and losing weight. I suck at maintenance! My diet has largely consisted of quick, easy, and often time's fast the past couple of years. Before that I was a committed vegetarian, and kept the weight off for 3 years. I introduced a small amount of fish back into my diet because I felt I wasn't getting enough protein. So as of Monday I cut out all junk, refined carbs, butter, oil, sugar, and processed food. Literally. I am eating as natural as I can. Large quantities of salads, fruit, veggies. No salt. Low fat cottage cheese, avacados. Lots of organic as well. I started back on my vitamins and take spirulina, multi, b's, potassium, flax, omega's. My counter looks like a drugstore.LOL I am not an avid exerciser. I don't really enjoy it, but have been doing pilates everyday, and today I walked for 40 minutes, and will keep that up weather permitting. I'm probably OCD, hehe, and the challenge was just the thing to get me motivated. According to BMI's I am supposed to weigh around 135, but have only been able to get as low as 160, and then I level out. I feel good, and like my body at that weight. I look healthy! I hope that helps : ) 3lbs in a week is awesome. Oh, and I was premenstral at the beginning of the week, which definately would account for the significant "water weight loss". Keep up the great work. Karen

    Fitness Challenge

This is definitely a good way to motivate me to get to the gym...i have put on weight because of my back injury. I was sedentary for 2 months. So, now I have started doing activities to help me lose the weight as well as eating healthier....good thing I have the Kinesiology background to help me out :) If any of you need advice, feel free to ask me.
