    8/27/09 = a little over a month until the three-ri

    Well, my biggest physical challenge is coming closer as the weeks go by. I am confident with my training, even though I locked out my knee a couple weeks ago...but here's how things look: October 4th: Twin Cities Marathon (26.2 miles) Minneapolis - Saint Paul, Minnesota; one week later - October 11th: Chicago Marathon (26.2 miles); one week later: Detroit Free Press Marathon (26.2 miles): Detroit, MI - Windsor, Ontario...I figured that, especially after my pneumonia recovery from February, this is the best shape I've ever been in. If there is a time to do this, it's now. I trained hard all spring/summer, and if this ends up being the only time in my life I get to do something this intense, I want to be able to remember it for the rest of my life. My training this summer has been different as in - I'm not doing 3 hours of straight cardio like last year - this time I'm balancing it out and spreading it across the day. Endurance is super important this time around - I will be running a VERY long distance and have to repeat it a week later, three times over three weeks. I REALLY want this to be a success. I feel I have the workout part nailed, I just have to work on (and stick to) the nutritional part - I'm eating my weight in supplements!!!! But I have to take the time to start eating real food and learning how to enjoy the taste of fruits and vegetables again.
