elsnook's Journal
thanks for the poke and inspiration.
Thanks for the poke a while back. It did not go unnoticed. I slipped up for a few months but I have new ambition and new routines. I'm so glad to see you are rocking it still! Congrats on the marathon!

Nice Job Man!
I just ran a 5k for the first time yesterday. Liked the change of pace from the longer races and the technical aspect of deciding what speed your body can handle at what time. Around December I'll start training for another half in the spring.

First Half Marathon
I ran my first half marathon yesterday. Ran the whole way aside from a pit stop around half way that cost me a few mins. Even with the stop, I still managed 2:03:03 over the beautiful course through Denver. Next up, maybe a full in January.

keep climbing to new hieghts....
Good job on the climbs! That's impressive. That is the downfall of Florida living... no real elevation change... Keep up the good work!

Attacking fourteeners
My wife and I tackled our 2nd, 3rd, and 4th fourteeners (mountains over 14,000 ft) this summer on Saturday. Three in one day was a challenge, put in over 4,200 ft of altitude gain, 7.2 miles, in over about 6.5 hours. I followed that up with a 7 mile run this morning as my first long run in serious preparation for my half in August. Quite the weekend, hope it helps kickstart some weight loss.
