    protein

    hey ty for the name...too many to choose from.. I get so confused, fast acting protein, sustained release? I know I do not want a mass maker...I'm in need of losing! I went to the website for beverly international and saw the usual garb for weight loss pills and crap...not impressed, cant there be some honest no bs company that makes a good protein supplement?

    Race week

    Love the week of a big race. Finding out what your race number is really brings things into focus. Legs feel really good and it looks like the weather may cooperate. Sub 1:40 here we come!

    Protein

    Ok thanks! I have GNC and a few natural food stores plus about 11 grocery stores near me, but I would rather the advice of another runner on here NOT trying to sell me something over the counter than the sales "retail" ppl at the stores...for some reason I feel like they look at me and figure i'm an east target and try to sell me really expensive HUGE containers of mega muscle building stuff and I am thinking...geesh do I need this? I just dont eat a lot of meat or eggs or fish or nuts...i'm not a bodybuilder by anymeans and I am not about to drastically alter my diet to include more protein (I just dont like it) when I can easily drink it!!

    my marathon!

    I plan on doing the scotia bank toronto waterfront marathon-it boasts :flat, fast and fabulous! its very scenic too! and lots of stuff my hubby can do with kids while i'm running all day-at the speed i am at currently it may take me between 4-5 hours to complete, this will be my first marathon... On starting training I fully started now with the intention of repeating weeks-I am the more experienced runner out of the group I have training for this run (some are doing only the 5k, others the 1/2 marathon and I think, maybe I have one person willing to attempt the training for the full-but that person has a broken toe at the moment, so as easily as I am running the 3miles right now, she is struggling with her toe and swelling and refuses to rest it lmao!!! so this is why we have started so early-I am determined and I know when I have hard weeks and want to give up, I will repeat them until I feel ready to move forward... I am not a protein person but I know as a log the millage I need more-do u have a protein drink you like? i am a very picky eater and well would rather drink my protein than eat it!

    Title...

    No salmon or chicken for me! ;) It's totally possible to get the appropriate amount of protein from plant-based sources, I just need to focus on doing better at it myself and making time to cook balanced meals. I do take a whole food plant-based supplement called Vega that helps in that area too.
