    How is the ankle?

How are you doing post surgery? Was wondering how you are progressing?

    Goals and more goals

Mary, you always are motivated and succeed in your goals. Kick-boxing, that sounds great. I would also like to start running. Maybe we can do something together to get a little competition going. I have to build up to it because I really let myself go. At least I maintained my weight but the body tone is gone. It feels awful. Need to change now.

this has GOT to burn calories

just finished a 26-minute walk--on crutches--in my neighborhood. That's the longest I've gone since my surgery. There are lots of hills on the street I took, and one of them is immense. I thought, "wouldn't it be great if I could climb that hill." So I decided to do it. I was very slow, but I did it.

About Me

I am a National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). My fitness program is based on weight training, cycling, and (in the warm months) sweep rowing. My true love is strength training, and I first discovered weights about 30 years ago. I've taught weight-training classes at a local YMCA and once upon a time was a graduate student in exercise physiology. Read my blog at http://primefit.org
