What's Up?
Looks like you're really doing a great job keeping up your workout log.

Austrian beauty continued...
If you walk the mountain down to the bottom, you will run into a cute, quaint little town, which is filled with pleasant decorations, cafes and restaurants, bakeries, ice-cream and sausage vendors, clothing and jewelery stores, and souvenior shops. The souvenior shops are filled with all kinds of beautiful and intricate trinkets that are unique to this area (such as coo coo clocks, beautifully embroided table cloths and linens, and wood-burning art). All the shop buildings in town are built in an older traditional Austrian style and the streets are laden in cobble stone. A tall, narrow cathedral with a clock and steeple, which dates back to the 1500s, marks the center of the town square. If you follow the cobble-stone roads all the way down, you will cross a railroad track and then come to the beautiful, white, "Grand Hotel, Zell am See," which over-looks the lake for which the town was named. We often like to sit outside at this Hotel's "terrace cafe," to sip our cappucinos and enjoy the beautiful view of the mountains, glaciers, and clear blue skys, mirrored by the waters of this lake.

Fresh Mountain Air...
Oh, it's hard to express in words, how beautiful it is up here in the Austrian Alps; I don't think I can do it justice... but sure, I'll try. The air and the aroma up here has a crisp, cool, moist, freshness, that is unlike any other place I've been to (and i've done my fair share of traveling). On most days, the weather is very nice, with blue skies, white fluffy clouds, and just enough sun to chase the chill away (and enough of a breeze to chase the heat away)...it's often a perfect balance of moisture, warmth, and coolness. The Mountains that our town is built upon are covered in lush, green grash and shrubery; which is intermingled with yellow, white, royal blue, purple, pink, and blue wild flowers. The bells of healthy-looking, untainted (without growth hormones) brown and white dairy cows, grazing on the pleantiful, plush fields of green, can be heard as we walk or hike down to the town or up to the top of the Mountain. You can also enjoy the view of beautiful horses that galavant freely on the meadows. To be continued during my next session on-line.... ;)

Greetings!
Hiking, swimming in a lake and going to town to shop all sound so pleasant and a wonderful way to spend your summer. I'm feeling a bit greedy when you say you're sharing a computer with 6 others. I have a desktop and laptop all to myself then my husband has one of each for him and my son has a laptop. Yikes-we're fitting the mold of the average American household in suburbia. I'm so glad you are recreating and living with varied circumstances that will enrich your experience. If you find time, would you send me a note telling me about the weather and what the area looks like. Living on top of a mountain must be beautiful. Enjoy yourself Rebekah. In Health, Holly P.S. I changed our social network for nursing students to www.MCCNOW.ning.com. It's open to all past and current nursing students not just wellness students. It should work smoother than the original wiki you logged into. The acronym N.O.W. is for Nurses Optimizing Wellness (at MCC). Check it out if your turn on the laptop comes up. :-)

Tracking my Log
Hi Holly, In case you have been following my exercise log/walks, while I've been in Austria, you may have noticed that I haven't been very disciplined about logging my nutrition and activity in on a consistent basis...I want to explain so you don't think that I was only telling you what you wanted to hear... Our house is up in the Mountains and internet up here doesn't always work as consistently as we would like it to. Plus, we are trying to share one lap top with working internet between six different people and still have time to do our desired outings of hiking and swimming in the Lake, shopping in the town, etc. This past week, I have been especially eratic at tracking (or even caring) about my exercise/diet because of some personal things that have gone on with my family and a very good friend of mine. I can discuss that with you in a more private setting though.
