First Speed Workout!
I decided to mix it up a little today and try for a modified speed workout. I didn't do a traditional workout, but tried to do a 5k (3.2m) as fast as I could (I've been running for 6 months and my average run is 5 miles, but not very fast). My goal was to have sub-9:30 miles the whole time even in the heat. I managed 9:05, 7:42, and 9:10. Not too shabby (I was really kicking the second mile and admittedly, it was flat, where the first and third miles both had some decent hills). I'm pretty happy with those results. Hopefully I'll be able to walk tomorrow!

Remarkable!
I've found that now that I'm so close to my goal weight, I actually have to eat *more* calories to lose. I find that very interesting, but at least that means I can add a little more food in every day. Who can complain about that? One pound to go as of this morning. It's so close I can taste it...

Back to the Grind
Finally back to running after a few weeks off due to a sprained ankle. It felt great to do four miles! Hopefully I won't be too sore tomorrow since I've been keeping up the elliptical and stuff. I can't wait to lose this last pound; it seems like it's taking FOREVER to get the last pound and a half off. I can't seem to break 126 for anything! Maybe I'm just building muscle ;-).

Did about 3 hours of heavy yardwork today as well, but I have no idea how many calories I burned. I know I'm exhausted though, and that's what counts. :) It's the good kind, but I bet I won't be able to move tomorrow. LOL

Ooops..
Don't try to change your routine and then go on vacation at the same time - it will screw you up! I'm still under my "limit" weight but I gained over three pounds between cutting back on my strengthening exercises and going on vacation to LALA. They eat a LOT in LALA, let me tell you. It was worth it because it was fun, but getting rid of those pounds is proving even harder than getting them off the first time. I guess I will go back to working out AND running five days a week again, at least until I go into maintenance mode. I got down to 1.2 pounds to go and now I'm back at 4.6 pounds to go. Not pleasant!
