    New Years Resolutions

With New Years Eve here, tomorrow marks the start of 2009, at which time, like many people, I'll be starting a new effort to stick to a whole list of New Year's Resolutions. It's the first year I'm trying a resolutions list, so we'll see how it goes. They say writing things down helps you stick to them, so I'll be posting the list on my blog at http://www.ianmikutel.com tomorrow. Here's to a great New Year, 2009!

    Well then...

That didn't go so well. 9 days later and I have barely ate anything nutritional since my last post. Christmas really had it in for me this year! At any rate, every days a new one, and with today I'll give it my best shot to revamp it all. Having Gyminee as a tool really helps, and I'll use it to track what I eat (for real this time) as I go day-to-day now.

    The Holiday Fight

Today I arrived home at my parents house for the next 2 weeks to spend the Holiday's with them. And the right begins. Christmas cookies, home made fudge, nut butter balls, muddy buddies...the list goes on and on. It's the Holiday Food Fight that we all are facing as we try to shed the pounds, build muscle, and overall improve our health during a time when we're faced with SO MANY TASTY TREATS. I for one, will stay away from the Egg Nog and will simply watch the Carb/Fat Count with Gyminee to make sure I adjust my diet to allow for the occasional cookies.

    Hello, Gyminee

After being fed up with the constraints of the FitDay.com food database (constantly having to add in my own custom entries), I finally said, there MUST be a web 2.0 based site out there for this sort of thing. After a little Googling, I found Gyminee. It's been great so far, I'm able to find almost all the foods I eat easily, using the power of user-powered-database search, and have invited many friends/family to join the site. I'm looking forward to the iPhone App soon, and am considering going Pro for some more nutritional and comparison data on my health. Soon I'll start setting goals and posting pictures frequently.
