Good to hear you are still around

Stay on top of that eating, I always fail when travelling for work since it is so easy to just grab something fast and not plan.

    Still here, Still committed

I wanted to touch base with this crowd - I'm still kicking. I was down and out with my sickness, but I bounced back. I have taken up hiking with a vengeance and weight loss is paramount to helping my ease of movement on the trail. I've been on the road for the past two weeks for work, so I have absolutely no idea what my weight looks like - there's not been a scale here I trust. I've tried to keep my diet under wraps, I haven't eaten out much - like twice, nor have I gone overboard with the beer, which is my other travel shortfall. Lots of coffee and water this week. So there you have it. I'm alive. I'm strong. I'm trying to be healthy, and I haven't touched any tobacco. I'm good. Cheers!

    Ugg

Trying to burn out the last bits of bronchitis - which I don't truly believe this is/was. It was very viral in how it hit me, and how it was resistant to all the drugs/shots. The only thing that helped me through this madness was codeine. Thankfully my doctor knows I have a limit so he let me call the shots on that. I'm almost out now, and debating calling in a favor for more just in case. Strapped on my pack with 10 lbs in it today, went for a 5 mile walk. It's hiking season and I gotta get in shape for that. My trekking sticks will be in this week, and I want to break them in on the trails! Hit it a little hard today, almost tossed my water a few times. That was fun. It feels good to work it hard again.

Sorry to hear you are sick

But good to hear you are still weighing in and are here. I have been sick a few times in the last year which does kind of throw a monkey wrench into your workout schedule but I found the silver lining. When sick I don't eat hardly anything, like you said popcicles become a staple. I also eat scrambled eggs and soup. If you get the healthy popcicles and soup you can really create a great calorie deficit throughout your sickness. I think during one cold for a week I was eating around 600 calories per day while my BMR was above 2000 calories. I lost 2 or 3 pounds that week while sick in bed. Also, keep your water intake as high as your stomach will allow and stay away from high salty foods. You don't want to get dehydrated and count water weight as a loss. . Get better, enjoy the little loss (or no gain) and get back on the horse. I want to see continued losses on your page weekly. Also, keep in the back of your mind, we tend to overestimate calories burned and underestimate calories consumed. I say that because now adays as I strive toward the finish line I find that losing even 1 pound is a pain in the ass, it is because I am not really creating that deficit that I used too (I eat more because I am so much more active).

    Sick :(

Apparently I have bronchitis - which has put an express halt to my working out. I thought if I did some core training and the like I could still keep something going - foolish mistake. I went from doing crunches to doing 3 sets of 30 coughs. Ridiculous. Hopefully I can clear up my throat soon and get some sleep. That will do wonders. I am still losing at a regular pace. Although I'm sick I weighed in at 275 this morning. I want a popcicle and narcotics :(
