    IM SA

Hello IronDave. I see you have not tracked anything since we last spoke. Are you doing beter? Taking off 2012. Just to report back/brag. I did my 1st IM in 16h50. It was a horrible day with 3m swells wind gusting at 75 km/h and rain on the run. BUT I DID IT. No cramping and perfect pacing. Thanks for your inspiration and advice along the journey

    Goals

May be do a few sprint or olympic distance triathlons. That can increase your speed and stamina. AND I think because it can be done more frequent you will be greatly rewarded. Or is your cycling is the weak spot do 6 months of only cycling or MTB to increase your strength or running Do 10km to make you real fast or even go to the pool and do master swimming. Great speedwork. It sound like you need a break from the IM. But Good luck and keep me informed. I hate seeing no IronDave at the top of the leader boards. Were will our inspiration come from

    IM2012

The best for 2012 for you as well. I'm glad to see you are still going. I will be doing IM2012 in South Africa. I've trained steady for some time and am following a program in the Ironman made Easy book. Good luck with your training and get your goals up else you will not be achieving much.

About Me

I'm currently training to do an Ironman (3.8km swin, 180km bike, 42.2km run). Picked up running, swimming and biking in june 08. I went from 210lbs and 32% of body fat a year ago to 150lbs and 13% of body fat right now. I did an olympic triathlon in september 08, now I'm going for a full Ironman planned in june 09. Long way to go, but I know I'll make it (hopefully...). The date has now changed, the Ironman will be in August, as june 09 is now scheduled for the Rio Marathon. I've also started a blog a few months ago, where I try to talk about my journey from my couch to Ironman: http://goingForTheIronman.com Rio Marathon, June 28th, 2009: done in 3h40 Ironman UK, August 2nd, 2009: done in 13h30 Gerardmer Olympic tri, qualifier for Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon September 6th, 2009: done it in 2h59, not qualified for Alcatraz (far from it) Ironman Zurich, July 25th, 2010: done in 11h16 Berlin Marathon, September 26th, 2010: done in 3h46 Coming next: Regensburg Ironman on August 7th, 2011
