    Minimalism

    I've been thinking a lot about minimalism lately and I want that to be a part of my life. I want to simplify everything. What that means for fitness is that I should be riding my bike when I can and I should be preparing and eating simple foods that are not processed, or even if I am buying prepared foods, I should be eating simple portions.

    Ugh

    Terrible weekend with food. I need to get weekend drinking / eating under control and be prepared for needing quick healthy snacks, lunches and dinners. I think I am going to start making healthy granolas or energy bars or something. Anywho, this morning hasn't been great either. I'm going to have to turn this around.

    Title...

    Reviewing today...So, maybe another thing I should do is at the end of the day review and see where I feel good and what I could improve upon. It probably would not be a bad idea to do this in general, aside from DB. OK, so today. According to DB recs, I should have ate a bit more, less carbs and more protein. I think protein will be a challenge until I get to a point where I want to spend more cash on supplements or eat a ton of soy. I'm not there yet. I am pleased with my ability to turn my day around after lunch and my massive intake of veg. Going forward, it is probably a good idea to eat a bigger breakfast, but I don't have much for tomorrow, so maybe on Friday I can get that going. I also should not have eaten that cookie and sandwich at lunch. It is not that difficult to make a veg/bean dish that is tasty, so I should stop lying to myself about that and just get it done. I have tomorrow's lunch already made and packed. Dinner and water intake will be my biggest challenge tomorrow.

    Reassessment

    I need to get serious about health and fitness. Starting today (after today i guess, because I ate like shit today), I am going to work on getting my diet in order for the rest of the month. At the beginning of July I will then incorporate lifting heavy things into my routine in order to tone up. I suppose the diet will have to be modified at that point. So, starting at this moment, 6pm on 6/1/2011 through 6/30/2011, my diet rules will be as follows (Jami, hold me accountable and shame me if possible, to this): * Avoid refined carbs, except for 1 day per week (maybe a glass of wine is ok, but no beer except once per week) * Vegetables with every meal * Keep processed foods to an absolute minimum (once every other day or so) * Focus on hydration Otherwise, vegan as usual. I will also do my best to weigh myself every day, and enter everything in here foodwise to measure progress. Let's see what happens.
