Title...
Jason, I'm sorry, but I don't recall the context of our conversation from a couple of months ago. A 5x5 program is typically a good program for hypertrophy. If you're looking to bulk, a 5x5 program with increased (quality) calories should result in muscle gain with some fat gain (again, if you're eating quality calories, this fat gain should be nominal). If you're now at the point whereas you're looking to cut and if you're asking me if you will potentially lose some of your strength gains during the cutting phase, the answer is yes (the exception being if you weren't taking the natural route, which I hope you are!). Typically you will lose some strength gains while cutting but your goal is to minimize those losses. During the cutting phase you want to increase cardio. You can certainly still perform Olympic lifts, but I would lighten up on the weight and move towards higher reps. I hope this helps! Susan www.CatapultFitnessBlog.com
