Injuries suck...
So my first national and I wreck. Banged and bruised up pretty good on both legs and my right arm. Still can't lift my right arm above my shoulder. So I've been doing bike sprints and walking to keep myself active. While I happy with getting some seat time (especially with Super Nats in March) I miss lifting. At first I thought I would be down for about a week. Now, five days since my accident, I'm thinking it will probably be more like three or four weeks. But I feel good that I didn't break anything or do any major damage. Just stay positive and keep moving forward.

Making progress towards first milestone goal
Okay, so I have this unofficial goal of being 250 or less by the first of the year. More than anything to be at least a little lighter when the BMX season starts. While I'm a bit disappointed in my progress this far, it does look like I may actually make goal. Still have over 40 to go after that, but each step gets me closer.

Moving in the right direction... finally
So, this morning when I jumped on the scale it was down another 2 lbs. While its a drop in the bucket, I'm happy to see that I have made some consistent progress over the last month. So I'm down a total of 16lbs since July. The secret? Quit making excuses about my diet and fix it.The old adage is true, you build your body in the kitchen, not the gym. Not that I only eat sticks and leaves, I just don't try to justify eating four times what I need. Been doing good sticking to not eating after 8:00pm which helps as well. According to my scale I should hit my goal in just 47 weeks. I would prefer 14, but it will happen if I just keep my focus and keep myself under control.

Thanks
For the support - good to see you still plugging away. I now need to get back into a routine, I was busy but not a good excuse to be lazy. I plan to try an intense bodyweight workout routine for a couple months and see what happens. Are you into push-ups by any chance? If so, maybe we could try a friendly challenge?

I had a good laugh
With your words of support - I really appreciate it but the reality of it is that I had gained two pounds on the week-end (beer and BBQ's - summertime get togethers) and I just stabilized back! It's actually a bit frustrating, as I normally eat very healthy and exercise a good amount (particularly with the weights) but my weight rarely fluctuates ... need to see the numbers go down. Good luck with your weigh-in on Thursday - I'm sure yours will be more honest than mine :-)
