jbonzo's Journal
Long time...
Wow, it has been a very very long time since I have written anything in my Daily Burn journal... I hit my lowest weight (149) EVER (well, since probably 6th grade) in November, then went up to 162 after Christmas. I wasn't too disappointed by this, because I had been travelling A LOT and the holidays. I gave myself permission not to worry about weight gain during this period. Today I weighed in at 153, which is up a pound from yesterday. More importantly, my fat% in November was 13.7 and soared to 14.6 after the holidays. Today I am at 13.8. All in all I am quite happy with my progress. I have also started lifting weights again (4 times this week) and I realize that muscle weighs more than fat.

Back at it (at least for a week or two)
Left for Italy on the 7th of November and returned on the 17th. Came down with a cold within a few days and finally went away around the 25th. Today is the 4th of December and we made it back to the gym - YEA!!! I was concerned that my weight would have leapt to a new height considering not working out and the TON of pasta and pizza we ate in Italy. Got on the scale and it said 223.3 and then after a 25 minute elliptical session it said 223 (this is what I recorded here). So, the weight didn't shoot up like I expected - so very grateful!!! I really think that trying to cut sugar and carbs (and salt) has helped. Will make more of an effort on the carbs and sodium now. Will really try for the next 2.5 weeks to work out and watch very carefully what I eat - would like to be below 220 at Christmas time. Ultimate short term goal is 190 by the time that we leave for England and the Canary Islands at the end of March. Fingers crossed.

Day 2
Worked out again today for 20 minutes on the stationary bike. Legs are tired and first 5 minutes was difficulty, but not impossible. Feeling like I'm getting sick with a cold today. No more work outs planned for this week (Chris is working double shift tomorrow). I am finding it easy to monitor what I eat on here. I'm not too focused or concerned on what I'm eating this week. I'm more concerned with simply getting into a habit with working out and a habit of recording what I'm eating. Next week I'll focus more on trying to attain my nutrition goals.
