Jeff51's Journal
About 2 weeks
All good. Have not missed a P90X workout, 14 days done. Also have begun going to the Y early AM for 1 hour to augment with additional weight lifting, cardio (20 minutes daily) and abs (300 minumum reps). watching what I eat relative to calric intake. Have breakfast (new to me), lunch (proportionate size) and dinner ( no breads, no butter etc). Bottom line is my eating has improved or so I beleive. Purposely not weighed as going to go in 2 week intervals, so Feb 3 will be my next date. Good news is last week went to the doc to renew cholesterol and BP meds. BP reading are near normal and have been for a while, but with no meds. Can't chalk it up to exercise and diet as that has really on been in effect in earnest for 2, maybe 3 week. Regardless, it is indeed good news. Still hard not to eat processed food crap. Anyway will check in Friday AM.

Tiem to go (again)
So here I am again..only a year older and back to where I began (kinda). With the holidays and a large party and a coupl of surgeries behind me, seems some of the weight found its way on this old body of mine. In Mid to late December I tipped em at 258, however not sure how much of that was due to the fluids that were pumped into me during the couple of surgeries. Anyway, even it that added a few pounds, I'll take it as will make the initial loss tha tmuch quicker and sweeter. During 2011 I tried to at the very least maintain and did things (exercise) sporadically. So why the change or the attempt to change. Well now that I have survived heart issues (4 stents) and cancer, figured no sense in tempting fate more than I already have. I can either be a sack and wish for shit, or actually do something about it. I have seen the obese people in BL get off thier very ample butts and work out, so why not me. I have told myself I am going to, but never seem to do it. Like I tell the people who work for me, we talk abou doing projects, but unless we force ourselves to do it, nothing will change. So do I practice what I preach, or is it one of those do what I say not what I do. Regardless, I need it and need/want to lose 28 pounds. My goal is to get to 230 by 4/31/12 from the high of 258. Very small bites over a 4 month period, averages 7 lbs per month, 1.75 per week. Doable yes, but the quesiton is can I or will I.

Just checking in with you
Hey Jeff, looks like you are getting the hang of it. With some time you are going to see some great changes with cardio, lifting, and controlling the food intake. Keep on trucking.

Wednesday
All is well. Mindset is really good..no problems getting up in the AM (5) to go to gym. Miss the outdoor element that the SealTeam PT group offered. That being said inside is not as bad as advertising for outdoor programs suggest. Eating well..still every now and then grab a few chips (poppers) but shit happens I guess. Looking forward but with some trepidation to the 1st.

good week
So I didn't scale today but go to the Y on M,T,Th and Friday with schedule for tomorrow as well. Weights going well..no where near as sore. It will be interesting to see how much (if any) loss occurs on 3/1 knowing that I am including weight training now along with cardio versus the cardio only approach. I know it isn't scientific as food intake (type) wasn't the same but don' think from a caloric perspective there was much difference. But in about 12 days we will see. That being said I am really hoping I scale at 237 or so??? Hopefully less but if more then so be it..just keep hackign away. Sooner or later the fat will move. Ya know I call myself fat but, and maybe this is somewhat narsassistic but I see what I look like and know other guys who tell me what they weight and I can't figure it out. Good buddy of mine says he weighs in at 235 and he is around 6-1 or so...looks 260. Large belly, fatish face...I know I don't look like that as I can see. now I may be in some state of denial and I do know I shuld lose weight but I bsically have a flat stomach (some love handles, not much but some) and don't appear lumpy or fluffy but how is it I weight 240 or so? What that tells me is that when I lose the 20, I am not going to look like I need to lose anything and more importntly I know I will be fit. That is the most important thing right? If you are good inside then the window dressing is for your ego. And anyone who might ever read this knows that the number one reason that propels someone to lose weight is they feel they look like crap. nothing wrong with saying it or admitting it. anyway...will check in next week...
