jeramieb's Journal
It's been two weeks...
It's been two weeks since I had surgery to repair a torn (full tear) rotator cuff and remove a bone spur in my left shoulder. The pain is okay, the physical therapy hurts at times, the non-use of my left arm is annoying but what's really killing me is my inability to exercise. I cannot wait until I can at least get back onto a treadmill and go for a walk/run. Who knows how long until I will have enough movement in my shoulder so that I can run again. I'm hoping I can at least get back to walking soon. We'll see. Until then I'll keep doing physical therapy and wishing...

W00H00! Hit the 20lb mark!
And man does it feel great! Although... I will have to go buy some new clothes soon. I seem to be having a hard time keeping my pants up. Maybe just need a new belt? LOL

This shoulder thing is making me angry
So my shoulder started hurting me during my bench press exercise last Monday and has been keeping me from completing my lifting routine since. I went to the Dr the Wed after I hurt it and was told it was probably bursitis and nothing too serious but to come back if it doesn't get better within a week or two. When I went to the gym last night I found that even though my shoulder doesn't hurt like it did, I still cannot do any lifting that uses my left shoulder. I was only 1 week away from completing the Strength Training plan on DB too! Grrr... Well I guess I will rest the shoulder from any lifting for a few weeks and see how it goes from there.

First exercise induced injury
Last night while running (treadmill) I cramped, strained, pulled my left calf muscle. I'm not sure what I did but it sure hurt. I had a very hard tome walking after and have taken today (the following day) off from work to keep 'icing' it through-out the day. I'm not sure what I plan on doing as far as exercise goes until I feel better enough to begin running again. I'm think about trying to the stationary bike in the mean-time just to keep active. I guess we'll see how it goes tonight when I head to the gym.
