JMCSprite's Journal
Yo! Yo!
Yo-Yo dieting ios such a misnomer for me. If I eat unrestrained, then I eat to reduce stress. If I eat that way, I gain weight. Period. No mystery, now questions. If I cut back my calorie intake, I lose weight. It isn't a yo-yo. There is a constant pull towards weight gain, and when I stop pulling on the tug-of-war rope, I gain weight, and keep gaining until I start fighting again. The problem is, the fight is so tiring. I have so much else to struggle with. I recently read a book that used scientific studies to prove that the kinds of food swe eat today are as addictive as narcotics. No wonder it is so hard to stop. I wonder if I can break the addiction and retrain my body to eat right. I wonder if it will ever feel like there is slack on the other side of the rope. I don't know. All I know is that I must fight this. I must do it.

Strange
I haven't been keeping a close eye on what I eat, I have avoided going overboard. I think I actually lost more weight and am slowly gaining it back. Luckily it is still a net loss from last weigh-in. I am going to have to be a bit more careful. It would help if I could find something else to do with the stress. When I sit and stress, I nibble, and it is never on healthy foods.

Reconfiguration and belly size
I did some re-configuration on my nutrition log. I work the night shift so my day actually starts around 3 in the afternoon and goes to around 8 the next morning. I decide to adjust my log to show this. It really showed that I had been eating too much each day and gave me a lot to work on. Good news, my belly size has gone from 61 inches to 58 inches. Yippee!

Strange Weigh-in
We purchased a new scale and I weighed myself with it the day before yesterday. It said I weighed 316. That seemed about reasonable. Last night I checked my weight at work, on the scale I have been using for the past couple of weeks and was within a pound of that. I figured I would start using the new scale from now on. Now, a little over 12 hours later, I weigh myself at home and it says 310.5 pounds. What????? How did I lose 5 pounds in 12 hours???? I didn't spend THAT much time in the bathroom, LOL. I will check this on the scale at work tonight, maybe getting a full eight hours sleep helped.
