Calf pain
I think I've pulled a muscle, so I'm cross training for a few days.

HIIT
5 mins warm up, 40 mins HIIT running intervals, 10 mins cool down. Yesterdays digging over of the vegetable patch has caught up with me. I ache, time for a sauna...

Migraine
Yesterdays migraine is wearing off, and I'm feeling much better. I even did my bike workout today...on the TACX, because I didn't trust my co-ordination for the roads. Back to normal tomorrow - hopefully.

Indoor training
Hi Judy, I use a TACX too. I can set up a power and it will adjust the brake depending on my speed so the power stays where I set it up. At the moment, I only spend 20 minutes on it in the morning, but I set it up at 280W (with 2 or 3 minutes warm up, that ends up at 265W of average power). I usually find that my performances are not as high on the road but the trainer does help a lot. Same for the run that I do outside. I only run 4km or so, but I try to make it in less than 16 minutes so it's pretty intense (for me). Only the swim is a bit more relaxed because I can't be all out very long in the water. When the weather will be nicer (soon, I hope) and the sun will rise earlier, I'll be back at what I was doing before the winter, which is more or less an Olympic Tri every morning. I was glad to get the 11-28 when I did the Gerarmer Tri because there are some steep climbs on this course (up to 18% and one long climb with an average of 12%). So have you decided about the 70.3 you're going to do?

Title...
hey judy :-) yeah! lets do it! thanks for the thought of a motivator! didnt think about that! I see you're from france! well im south africa born and bred. country of sports obsessed!! yeah swimming is my thing and i'd be happy to help. Swam with the likes of george durandt, kate roberts, hendrik de villiers etc... they went on to become olympic triathletes and i went on to become a varsity graduate. hows training going? what you training for? Currently battling a tendinitis injury but ave week consists of x3 4/5km swims and maybe an open water swim. about 30 to 40 km trail running [whne the ankle is sound] and about 10hours of cycling in a good week. Just been a bad week with the nutrition habit...i find tri has a 5th discipline! NUTRITION! and i am really not doing very well with it! not really training for anything specific at the moment... just base work... and injury less!
