Hey there :) So funny you should mention Rippetoe -- I just added Starting Strength my reading list. I'm not familiar with Max-OT but I'll assume since you're thinking about that or Rippetoe, that it too focuses on getting back to basics. I need to hold off on passing judgment on Rippetoe until I read the book, although I've heard good things. With that said, I recently finished Eric Cressey's Maximum Strength which I'm going to give a whirl. If you're looking to put on muscle - take a look. Cressey is a strength coach and competitive power lifter. In either event, let me know what you decide!!
