Hey thanks for the uplift and encouragement. I hope as time progresses I can return the favor. However, I have the sense you are the type who is helped by helping! I am the same way... most times :- ) Well, anyways I am using a trick to help stop the devastating "bounce" from my walk-runs: I am wearing compression shirt and shorts. Nothing crazy, just a really really tight set than keeps everything in place. It's like Under Armor but from Walmart. I normally wear XXL in clothing, but I squeeze into a M for my workout! ha-ha. I got the idea from seeing my wife's sports bra. Funny part is seeing me squirm to get them off afterwords! Hope that made you smile and returned the favor!

    Run, walk, crawl

Thanks for joining this site. It's encouraging and uplifting for me to have a brother in Christ on this site. As for the 100 miles, as long as you don't ride, I don't care how you get there, just get there! Damon <><

    Thanks KB

If it makes you feel any better...it was digustingly hot today. A santa anna is kicking our butts. It's still difficult to complain when I left good ol' cold Cape Cod just months ago. That's home and I miss it lots, but i'll settle for visits just to get away from the cold. _ Thanks so much for the motivation - I need all the help I can get, we all do. I gained my weight when volleyball ended; it was just to easy to eat and be lazy. I'd play the rest of my life if I had the savings to train a few years in order to get GREAT. But I don't, so i'll have to settle for kicking my butt in the gym and finding some leagues to have some fun with. _ Great job getting on that tredmill today; 7days/week is going to work ya-just the way we like it! Keep it up KB. :)

    Rise and Shine

For a day that was easy I conked out early. Up at 0605 and downstairs for a measly 20 minutes on the elliptical. Lisa is off to a scrapbooking event and I am Daddy in charge. Workout done. I joined the GI challenge, but I really did not want to work out 7 days a week. I wanted to work out hard 6 days and coast on Sundays. That's out the window. So I did my 20 minutes of cardio. Sure wish it was warmer here in Wisconsin.. It was like 28 degrees last night. Which is actually warm. Last week it was in the teens. I have been weighing in every week on Wednesday morning, and taking my picture. I took it last week but did not see much of a difference. But I will post it this week. My pants are fitting better and I synched my pants and my new normal setting is one notch tighter on my belt. YEA !

Felt like taking a coffee day

You know a coffee day...One of the those days when it's overcast cold and the wind is blowing, and your kids are running around whinnying and carrying on, like they're tired but the they've only been up like 90 minutes. So I sat in my favorite place in our house. We have a ranch house and the front of the house faces due South. It's wonderful in the fall and winter, because the Sun comes right in the window and warms you up. It could be -20F and you are toasty and warm enjoying your cup of Java and hanging out. After my 2nd cup of black coffee, I finally hauled my carcass downstairs to do my workout. I kind of took it easy on the cardio today and only did 20 minutes. I just felt pooped. So I did my 20 minutes and moved onto the weight routine. I am finally finished and then made myself a protein milkshake with the addition of a big banana. Today I have to finish the room I'm building in the basement for a darkroom and workshop. And have to clean the basement to get ready to finish the recreation room. In the workout room I built a couple years ago I installed a lifefitness GP4 weight bench and a Lifefitness Elliptical. I probably paid 5 grand for the stuff and let it sit and collect dust for 5 years. I wasted the past 5 years of life not working out, and wasted the last 15 years of my life being overweight and not happy. Everyday I get up, I can either be Happy and in shape or I can choose to be fat and unhealthy. I feel better about myself at least doing something to further my happiness and well being.
