    A New Start's been a really, really long time since I wrote anything on here. I'm not sure anybody reads it anyways. Anyhow, I got married last year and I'm really enjoying the married life! However, I've put on about 20 pounds since I got married. I was overweight when I got married, but I'm pretty much obese now. With that being said, I have started a weight loss program (with my beautiful wife to encourage me and hold me accountable). No sodas, no junk food, lots of water, and actually balancing what I eat. I'm determined to lose it, I feel good after my first work-out this morning. When I put together all the stuff I could eat and still meet my goals, I was amazed by how much I could have as long as it was healthy. Today I'll be eating grilled chicken, five eggs, pretzels, a turkey and cheese sandwich, Greek yogurt, turkey bacon, carrots, celery, several glasses of milk, etc. I'm confident and excited.

    Running Class, Zombies, and Cross-Fit

    I've been taking a running class through the University and it is kicking my tail. Every Monday and Wednesday we have some really tough work-out. Sample work-outs include a six mile run, fifty minutes of circuit training (without a break), and a quarter mile of lunges. So that has been helping me a lot with my Spartan Race training. I've been watching the Walking Dead again. It's an awesome show, but at first it might not seem like it has anything to do with working out. I use it as motivation: I need to be physically fit, especially with regards to running and functional strength. I may not have access to the best food after a major catastrophe happens, so why not do myself a favor and eat healthy now? I'm definitely motivated to do a lot more functional fitness work-outs, like sprints, Mogadishu miles, ruck marches, etc. I have the gear and the mindset to survive, but I need my body to be in top-notch condition to make myself feel better about the future. I seriously am thinking about doing Cross Fit, maybe with Anderson. It all depends on how I feel. Anyhow, I'll stick with the training plan that I am on now through DailyBurn Tracker and see where the results leave me.

    New Life

    Oh the joy of getting in shape...I'm finally beginning to feel kindof like one of those health-conscious nuts. I can't wait to get back to UA and start eating right/working out to get down to 175. This next semester will be life-changing for my diet and exercise patterns. In the next six months, I should comfortably drop to 175 and start working my way back up to 185. My New Year's goal is finally within sight. The Spartan Race video really motivated me this morning, especially after a work-out that has left my legs burning. I'm very excited and happy about my weight and fitness for the first time in awhile.

    It's now time to reset my goal for 190! I was 198.8 this morning. Within two weeks, I hope to be at 190. Time to push very hard towards the finish line! Today I'm doing a Spartan Race workout with my little brothers, so I'm pumped!

    Weight on the Decline

    I'm now about a pound and a half from being at 199. Oh happy day! Who knows, I may be there by tomorrow! That would be awesome!

About Me

What can I say? I hate feeling unattractive and lame. My body doesn't really gel with the man I try to be. No excuses, it is my responsibility to get in shape. I want to get in shape, so that I can finally be the man I've always wanted to be.
