Feeling good
the hcg is working! I'm sticking to the diet pretty good and just a little hungry. I finally remembered to take my resting heart rate upon waking today and it was 60! That is considered an "athlete" for women of my age. Then I took my fasting blood sugar and it was 112 - should be below 99 - I did have a sip of coffee so not sure if that is why. Will check it again tomorrow right when I wake up. Today I'm going to try the HIT exercise DVDs I bought since my trainer canceled our appointment. I ordered the Bodymedia FIT armband device yesterday and it should be here tomorrow - I can't wait. It will track my sleeping too. I mostly want it for tracking calories burned and for sleep monitoring. I'll use db for food tracking. Onward and downward - on the scale that is!

Title...
I didn't gain too much from vacation. We started the HCG shots on Friday 7/15 and started 500 calories yesterday 7/17 - we were very headachy and hungry and IRRITABLE! I guess we didn't fat load enough. Lesson learned for next round. Today (day 2 of VLCD) I feel better. Drinking lots of water. I lost a few pounds the first day too so that is motivating.

Just getting started
Going on vacation tonight - I guess that isn't the best time to start a weight loss/ nutrition tracking journey. ;-) I got a new Withings scale that via the internet updates my weight and %body fat - no cheating there. I'm starting the HCG diet after vacation. Actually starting the shots on the last two days of vacation because you're supposed to fat load on those days - that is easy to do on vacation! So Monday Sunday July 16th will be first day of 500 calories. I'm doing it with my husband. I think we will do well because we've been avoiding simple carbs for several weeks now. We eat veggies with a meat for dinner. No rice, potatoes or pasta on the side. I will have to give up my sprouted grain bread for the 40 days but anything is doable for 40 days.
