1/23/11 - First MTB Race
I rode my first mountain bike race today. It was brutal, but I came in 3rd in my class. I am eager to see how my performance improves when I am back on normal foods and can properly fuel.

12/19/10 - Day 34 of Optifast
I can proudly say I did not eat cake at the cake party! YEY!!!! It took a lot of mental energy to watch everyone else eat though. I had about 1/4 of a piece of brownie at the potluck, but what I really wanted was Carol's lasagna. Overall, it was totally ok to watch people eat there. I could have left the brownie pretty easily. I've had more munchies this week, but have also been working out pretty intensely. I achieved my goal of going to spin class 3 times this week, even though I had a sinus headache one day. I feel really good and feel like I have lost more weight this week.

12/13/10 - Day 28 of Optifast
Today's meeting was not so great. Someone brought up birthday cake and I guess what I needed was reinforcement that I am not eating cake during this program. Instead, we got "you can eat cake, but you better have a plan." It made me really want cake. It's much worse since my office is having a party Thursday for the December birthdays and they are ordering my favorite cake. And, I had a dream that I cheated on my plan and felt horrible about it. I only lost 1.4 pounds this week, kinda sucky. But, I have to remember that my focus is long-term health. On the positive side, I feel good, I am no longer obese and I stuck through an intense hour-long spin class without quitting!

Day 25 of Optifast
Yesterday I was having my first real "urge" to eat since the first day. I think I was just restless, not really hungry. Today I have not felt hungry, even missed a meal time by about 45 minutes because I was so absorbed in buying Christmas gifts online. I'm still feeling great. In fact, yesterday I felt odd because my neck hurt when I woke up...my first real pain since my only migraine of the month. Pain is not the norm now!

Day 23 of Optifast
I'm still feeling great! No more migraines this week. Was able to exercise more intensely Monday without feeling like my legs would fall off. Lost another 3.6 pounds even after eating a small salad, salmon and lentils at the office party. Feel slight twinges of hunger and wanting to munch when I am bored at work, but just keep drinking my Cocoa/Coconut tea.
