How Awesome!
How cool that you were able to quit your job to be home with your daughter! I bet that will make your life so much less hectic while you finish school...and workout. Enjoy!

Thanks for the tip.
I actually quit my job yesterday so I can be with my daughter before and after school so I'm looking forward to fitting time for a real workout in between my schoolwork while she's at school-we'll see how that goes. Thanks for keeping me accountable!

You're a Trooper!
I think you do really well to get 10K steps in with everything else going on in your life. Yes, we have a wave of birthday's in the summer too. My grandson just had his 3rd birthday party on Friday. The good news is the cake is at his house but, of course I had a piece! We took him to Chuck E. Cheese so I'm hoping all of the running around chasing after him canceled out the pizza and cake :) I'm trying something new this semester. I have class on Tuesdays and Thursdays until 7. On Mondays and Wednesdays, I'm going to try to go to the gym and take a cycling class and lift some weights after work. We'll see how it goes. In theory, it should work but EVERY semester since I've started my Ph.D. I've gotten so overloaded with studying that the workouts get put on hold. I'm trying to not let that happen this time because I've come to the realization that my health is as important as my education. Besides, I'm going to need to live (and work) a long time to pay off all of those student loans :)

Always in school
My daughter started school on Aug 13th, but I am always in school. I take classes through an online college, and I get 10 weeks on, 1 week off so I am in the process of midterms right now. I'll get a week off at the beginning of October, then on again. That's why I have only been doing walking, treadmill and things like crunches...it's impossible to get to the gym! I don't know how the celebrations go on your end, but we have been fighting the battle of the birthday cake here! There seems to be a party or birthday every weekend throughout the summer and it is so hard to stay focused on my numbers, but I have been busting my butt to do it! I have challenged myself to lose 28 pounds between Aug 5 & Nov 15th--we are going to Vegas in November and I want to be able to wear the clothes in my closet that don't fit, so I have been totally committed to at least trying to get my 10,000 steps each day. Good luck getting your workouts in once school starts, I know it's tough!

Lots in Common
Yes, we do have a lot in common! I have a daughter with developmental disabilities and she has a three-year-old son. I try to spend a lot of time with them. And my husband has two kids, they are pretty low-maintenance kids though, they like to study a lot. I think we can help each other out because we both understand the challenges of working, going to school, family, and working out! Have a great day. Hope to see your lunchtime workout logged in when I get home from work :)
