SleekGeek Challenge - 12/02/12
On the 1st of February, the SleekGeek challenge begins, a friendly competition amongst South African ICT professionals looking to keep fit and healthy and promote good lifestyle habits for a group of people traditionally known for ill-health and obesity (ok, perhaps a little overstated!) The competition requires measurements taken at the gym and a "before" photo be posted to a group of judges, at the end of 12 weeks they will determine the winner in a range of categories based on updated measurements and an "after" photo. My selected category is the "Get ripped / Toned" category and if I win the prize is 7 grand (South African, so about $1k) Due to work commitments and a business trip, I'm starting 2 weeks late, but I'm gonna give it my best shot starting today.

It wasn't a fluke! I've managed to repeat the 100 test, and even managed 105 today. And they're getting easier to achieve. So definitely on the right track. The bodyfat numbers aren't coming down anymore though, which is a bit disappointing. I need to come up with something new to shock the system into action.

Push Ups and Progress - 21/11/11
I finally did it! 100 Push-ups in one set! Without a doubt the biggest milestone I've managed to achieve! I had to cheat a little, I think 1 rep was a cheat, and I had to take a few seconds break at 80, 90 and 95 - but I completed the full 100 and now the new goal is to regularly get there! Apart from that, I'm very happy to report that for the first time in a decade, I can see my abs again! I have 4 little ones protruding, but they're clearly visible and there will be more to come! :)

Cograts on the 90!
I absolutely hear you on reaching for the 100, though. I thought I would roll on through once I got into the 80's, but on my best day my max set is usually 70-75 still. Let me know if you come up with and magic bullets to get there. I tried adding weights to the mix, but I think it has actually backed me up.
