mule's Journal
Monday at the Rec Center
Heather and I got the urge to go out after HIMYM and some discussion around town. We decided on checking out the billiards table at the Rec Center. She won four out of five games, don't let her tell you otherwise. Afterward, I was able to sneak in a run. Honestly, not a bad run. It felt easy, and I'm glad I got a run in despite a lot going on today.

Thursday Run
Apparently I'm gaining weight again. I started out Lent at 200 lbs, and I'm weighing only slightly less today. For those who care to keep track, I've have been steadily losing weight since mid-October (if you look at my thirty-day moving average), and I have lost a pesky inch from around my waistline. I've still been running about the same, and same for the lifting (mostly). What's different? I can only surmise that it's because I've gone back to putting more protein back in my diet in the last couple of weeks. Since I've cut out a lot of my empty calories from beer, soda, and chips, this should be an interesting experiment to see where my weight is at by Easter. On the plus side, today was a stronger, albeit slower run. It felt easier, and that was nice for a change.

Sunday Run
Went running at the Rec Center after being in the pool with the kids for about 80 minutes. Really had to dig deep today, which I guess makes sense since in the last six days I've run just over 12 miles. Not too bad for yours truly. Still, getting over a cold, but I got a decent amount of sleep last night, and I didn't overheat the treadmill today.

Friday Run
The difference in relative ease between 7.3 mph and 7.0 mph for yours truly is notable.

Thursday Run
I originally planned on going a little slower, but I wondered if I could carry some momentum forward with Tuesday's faster times, but only doing it for 25 minutes. Not quite. Either I'm still too sore from yesterday, too tired from lack of sleep, or something. I probably could have pushed harder, but I already had a sour disposition due to matters arising from the work day. On the plus side, I'm still slowly losing weight, my waist size is probably down a bit, and the scale thinks I've lost a percentage point for body fat.
